Reacher Season 4 Episode 5: A chase, a crash and a hostage- recap ahead

Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 is titled 'Bridge' and was released on August 26. Season 4 continues to push its titular hero into increasingly dangerous territory, and Episode 5 makes the situation even more personal. After spending much of the season trying to stay one step ahead of those hunting him, Jack Reacher finds himself against a threat that cannot be solved with brute force.

The latest episode picks up in the aftermath of the previous episode's cliffhanger, where Lila and Amisha showed their true colours, and Jack was cornered by a SWAT Team while surrounded by a ton of dead bodies. While Reacher managed to escape using a trash chute, he was eventually arrested by the Philadelphia PD. However, the harrowing events led Reacher to a chilling realization: Anna had likely mailed the drive to someone she trusted, ie, Jacob.

This clue sent Tamara, Jacob, and Plum on a hunt for the drive in Reacher Season 4 Episode 5, resulting in a high-speed chase, a brutal crash, and one of the members ending up as a hostage.

Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 recap: Jacob finds the drive

Jack's hunch was right in Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 as Jacob discovered the drive and Anna's dead phone in his house. The group tried to find some information about Lila, but as Plum revealed, her digital footprint was practically nonexistent. However, the group did not have time to check out the drive as they were soon ambushed by Lila and Amisha, who opened fire with automatic weapons at them.

This led to another high-speed chase between Jacob-Tamara and Lila-Amisha. While Tamara called for backup, Jacob distracted the enemy duo and eventually crashed them after taking a high-speed turn on the titular bridge. While this felt like the end for Lila and Amisha in Reacher Season 4 Episode 5, the duo escaped the ordeal by throwing themselves off the bridge. Any doubts about their survival were cleared when Jacob's uncle Monty revealed that Lila and Amisha were alive and had stolen his car after slashing a local's throat.

Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 recap: Reacher was reunited with the gang

Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 also checked in with the titular hero, who found himself with the Philadelphia PD again. However, Reacher managed to break out of the building, but not before beating one of the CIA goons to a pulp. Naturally, Reacher contacted Tamara, who had managed to acquire a new car through one of her contacts, and the group decided to reunite at a hotel to view the contents of the drive.

The ever-resourceful Reacher bribed the hotel staff to let them use one of the rooms to inspect the contents of the drive. While Jacob charged Anna's phone, the gang sat down to view the drive, which contained a picture of Sampson and Cahill with General Putra. While the picture appeared useless at first, Reacher noticed a shady guy in the background. While Sampson revealed he was just a scientist doing research work, Reacher was determined to find the guy.

Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 recap: Jacob was taken hostage

When the gang was brainstorming their next steps in Reacher Season 4 Episode 5, they saw Reacher's face plastered on the news, considering he had escaped and was now a fugitive. This forced the group to leave the hotel room and split into two groups. Plum and Jacob were to go after the guy from the photograph, and Tamara and Reacher were headed to the abandoned restaurant that Lila sent Anna the address of.

It was another task for Tamara and Reacher to escape from the hotel, with cops swarming the place. However, the duo managed to distract the cops long enough and made their way to the restaurant, only to discover that it was the location where Ben was tortured and killed. The bloodstains and torn restraints hinted that Ben was brutally tortured before he was killed. In the final moments of the episode, Reacher came face-to-face with Lila again, who had taken Jacob hostage. Her demand? The drive in Reacher's possession.

As with previous entries, Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 concluded with yet another shocking cliffhanger, which put Reacher in a tough position again. With one of his own in captivity, it will be interesting to see what our titular hero will do next.
