Reacher Season 4 Episode 6 faces backlash as fans spot visual error - Jacob's neck wound

Reacher Season 4 saw its weakest entry this week with the sixth episode, "Plum Out of Luck". It took several leaps in logic and ultimately culminated in a frustrating cliffhanger as we will obviously see Reacher and Tamara escape in the opening scene of the seventh episode, next week.

However, one continuity error has been the most discussed aspect about this week's episode. It has to do with the character of Jacob Merrick, played by Christopher Marquette. In the first act of this Reacher Season 4 episode, we see Amisha Hoth slightly cutting Jacob's neck. This wound is not fatal, but he is bleeding. However, the wound supposedly disappears over the course of the episode.

Reacher Season 4 Episode 6 continuity error explained:

As mentioned earlier, the wound that Amisha inflicts on Jacob is not serious, which is why we see him active throughout this episode. He is the one who rushes Russell Plum to the hospital when the freelance journalist is shot in the brawl between Team Reacher, Amisha & Lila, and the Feds. We see the wound on Jacob's neck in the hospital, but many believe that the wound disappears in the second half of the episode.

However, these complaints are incorrect. We can see the neck wound in the second act of this episode. However, the production team has placed the prosthetic in the wrong place. At the start of Reacher Season 4 Episode 6, Amisha wounds Jacob right in the center of his neck. But in the latter half of the episode, we see the wound on the left side of his neck.

We can see the wound in the scene in which Jacob meets a family friend, Monty DeRosa. This error might be because of rushed shooting or the scenes being filmed at different times. Such errors are common in modern-day streaming shows. But the wound is not the only problem with the episode.

This episode is filled with errors:

Even though his name is in the title, Russell Plum doesn't appear in the episode after he was admitted to the hospital in the first act. We don't even know if Plum's condition is stable by the end of episode 6. Apart from this error, it is filled with other clichés, like a villain walking out of the room after trapping the heroes with his henchmen. It should be noted that the henchmen do overpower Reacher and Tamara, but it is still a clichéd error.

The episode concludes with an unnecessary cliffhanger, as the henchmen transport Tamara and Reacher to an undisclosed location, where they face the threat of being shot. Considering that two more episodes are left this season and a fifth season has already been greenlit, there is no way that Reacher would die in next week's episode. These errors have caused a dent in an otherwise solid season.
