Reacher Season 4 finale breakdown: Jack, Tamara and Jacob wind up in a bloody showdown over Lila's deadly toxin

Reacher Season 4 wrapped its run with an explosive finale titled 'Cut' on Prime Video on September 16.

The final episode was naturally action-packed and concluded Reacher and the gang's hunt for Lila's deadly toxin. As seen in the previous episode, while Sampson managed to ruin Lila and Amisha's plan for a deadly demonstration and sacrifice his life in the process, Reacher's presence on the scene connected him with the bomber. Jacob and Tamara rescued Reacher and the trio hid out in Plum's loft.

Elsewhere, Lila and Amisha had not given up and were cooking up more toxin in the Reacher Season 4 finale to target a new location. Reacher and the gang had to race against time, hunt the duo and kill them.

Reacher Season 4 finale explained: Lila and Reacher's gang came face-to-face

Now that Sampson had heroically destroyed Lila and Amisha's plan, Reacher knew the duo would plan another attack. Thanks to Jack's skills, he was quick to realize that Lila and Amisha were likely hiding in the restaurant in Reacher Season 4. Since the authorities had already checked the place out, it was the perfect hideout spot. Reacher was right as the duo was holed up in the restaurant and cooking up more of the deadly toxin to plan another attack in a nightclub.

Lila and Amisha's goons were no match for Reacher, Tamara and Jacob. Reacher and the gang decided to split up when Amisha sent one of her goons with the remaining toxin and the respirator, with the intention of releasing it in a packed nightclub.

This is where the Reacher Season 4 finale delivered on action. While Jacob and Tamara chased Amisha's goon, Reacher fought with the remaining army at the restaurant. After getting his hand nailed to the ground, showing off his sledgehammer skills, and beheading a guy in an elevator, Reacher finally reached Lila and Amisha.

Lila died a brutal death in the Reacher Season 4 finale

While every showdown between Reacher and the enemy is worthwhile, the Reacher Season 4 finale was especially exciting. After all, our larger-than-life protagonist was against two trained female assassins, who sliced off his flesh at every opportunity they got. The women collectively attacked Reacher, slicing his flesh and drawing his blood. While Reacher defended himself with a piece of plywood, he was starting to lose consciousness with his increasing loss of blood.

Reacher got the upper hand when he managed to throw Amisha through a window, likely sending her to her death, leaving him with Lila.

In a callback to Jack's grave mistake of sleeping with the enemy in Reacher Season 4, Lila twisted a knife into him and said:

“I don’t know what I enjoy more, f***ing you or killing you."

However, Reacher had gotten his priorities straight at this point and luckily spotted a syringe with the toxin. He finally injected Lila with her own poison, and she died a slow death.

Elsewhere, Jacob and Tamara discovered that Amisha's goon planned to release the toxin in the club’s fog machine and spread it through the crowd. However, the duo managed to reach him in time and shot him, thus avoiding the tragedy.

After killing Lila in the Reacher Season 4 finale, Jack collapsed on the ground, with the USB drive still in his hand. However, Officer Baker showed up and was about to shoot Reacher when Amisha (who survived the fall) slit his throat. Just when Amisha was about to stab Reacher, Jacob showed up and rescued him. Despite Jacob's temptation to kill Amisha, he arrested her and put an end to her dangerous plan.

How did Reacher Season 4 end?

The Reacher Season 4 epilogue showed Reacher in the hospital with the USB drive. It turns out Sampson's people and Elspeth turned the entire operation into a federal raid, which not only made Jacob and Tamara heroes but also kept Reacher out of the spotlight. Additionally, Elspeth assured Reacher that all charges against him were dropped.

While Jacob finally got closure after scattering Anna and Ben's ashes, Tamara was restored to her position as a homicide detective and awarded the Medal of Valor. As Sampson got a military funeral, his wife decided to take his place in politics.

The final moments of the Reacher Season 4 finale saw Reacher riding the subway again when he had a flashback of Anna. However, he brushed the vision off and proceeded to enjoy his cheesesteak when he spotted a homeless woman on the subway. While he could not save Anna that day, Reacher sat beside the old lady and shared his cheesesteak with her.
