Sheriff Country Season 2 concludes the Stoyanovs' operation as Eva apologises to Mickey - Episode 4 recap inside

Sheriff Country Season 2 Episode 4, titled Maria, aired on CBS on October 30. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the official synopsis for the episode reads as follows:

"As a dangerous manhunt intensifies across Deadwater, Sheriff Mickey Fox races against time to protect vulnerable lives while long-buried family wounds force her to confront the past."

According to TV Fanatic, the latest episode of Sheriff Country Season 2 saw Mickey and the team close in on the Stoyanovs' operation after the harrowing events of the previous episode. Mickey's investigation took a disastrous turn in Episode 2 when Wes blew his cover and was captured by the Bulgarians. But unexpected help gave a new direction to the investigation, which not only helped Mickey in finding Wes, but also rescued the trafficked girls and destroyed the Bulgarians' operation.

Here's what happened in Episode 4.

Sheriff Country Season 2 Episode 4 recap: A new direction in the manhunt

Boone was compromising his health to help Mickey with the operation in Sheriff Country Season 2 Episode 4. While Mickey was unaware of Boone's injury, Cassidy was worried about him. The investigation got a new direction when Boone introduced Mickey to Parker Chase, who operated Skotos AI. Parker promised that his AI would help the police catch any criminal with a cell phone. Turns out, Parker had already worked with Jim Wade in Drake County, and his AI would assist with finding Wes and the girls.

Things took a pleasant turn when Parker's AI used thermal imaging drones to find Wes, who had retreated to his secret cabin in the woods with the girls. Wes' secretive cabin was resourceful. It was laced with traps, which trapped one of Stoyanov’s men who followed Wes and the girls.

Mickey destroyed the Stoyanovs' empire in Sheriff Country Season 2 Episode 4

Wes used the dealer's semiautomatic weapon to escape from the cabin with the girls. Wes sent three girls with weapons and returned to rescue the others. While one of the Bulgarians caught up to Wes, he handled him, and the duo eventually found the girls and reached the Sheriff's office. Wes' bravery resulted in the girls' rescue, and the firefighters provided first aid.

Mickey and the team got a major lead in Petar, who knew about Sonny's business and was being kept in a DEA safehouse. However, somebody killed Petar, and one of the girls was in danger. It turns out, Sonny and his men found out Priya's whereabouts and came after her.

Things took a turn in Sheriff Country Season 2 Episode 4 when Mickey and the team tracked down Sonny's mother, as his father was still being treated at a hospital. Mickey convinced Sonny's mother to help the Feds, and he was caught. While Priya was rescued, Sonny felt betrayed by his own mother. The episode concluded as Sonny was taken into custody and his empire was destroyed.

In the final moments of Sheriff Country Season 2 Episode 4, Eva apologized to Mickey and Skye and made peace with them. While Eva had no choice in the past, she apologized for hurting Mickey. After promising to do better, she left Edgewater again. But this time, Wes was determined to win her back when Sharon arrived with a dangerous request for her father.
