Shrinking Season 3 is going to conclude soon on April 8, 2026, and the show is returning for Season 4. In Season 3, we saw Jimmy struggle with the idea of Alice moving out for college and Paul retires, moving to Connecticut with Dr. Julie. Shrinking Season 3 will come to a conclusion soon this week, and a new story, including the same characters will be explored in Season 4 as the show's creator stated.Ahead of the Season 3 finale, Bill Lawrence posted on X (@VDOOZER)saying,"Season finale and end of this three season story next week. Feels scary/risky/fun)Thanks for watching."Initially, this might have seemed like the show is heading towards a completely new set of characters with a new story, but that isn't the case. In another post, replying to a fan's question, Lawrence cleared up any confusion saying,“You guys can read about this if you wish. We always pitched a three season story on #Shrinking grief-forgiveness-moving forward. We wanted to stay true to that and end the way we planned.(So excited to do Season 4 and a new story with the same cast.)”Thus, it is now clear that Season 3 of the show will end the story the show was first pitched with. This means that a closing arc will be given to the present storylines of almost all characters, but we're not going to have to say goodbye to them yet. Season 4 will star the same cast and characters, but with a new story that the creator and producers has probably not planned in the initial days, but have now dediced on since the show has been renewed for Season 4.So far, there aren't any indications if any new guest stars would be joining Season 4, so we can expect most of the main and recurring cast to return.
