Silent Truth has taken a heavy turn in Episode 6, as the story steps into its darkest and most shocking phase so far. Until now, the police were only searching for Hideyuki's murderer, thinking it might have been done by Keisuke, Naoto, or Makiko. While Nara was investigating the complete case along with the details of the incident twenty-three years ago, no one expected Junichi to suddenly confess and reveal himself as the killer of Oshima. This clearly explains why, at the beginning of the series, he says that he committed a crime that day, while others say that they witnessed a dead body and hid a gun in the time capsule. Additionally, this was also the reason why he didn't stay in contact with his childhood friends or come to visit them, even when the others were in contact the whole time. While Keisuke is not very fond of Junichi and Makiko is not very truthful about the whole thing to Junichi, we have to say that Naoto is the loyal friend amongst them all, as even after knowing that Junichi killed someone, he never talked to Junichi about it and even promised to keep it a secret, even when he had no reason to save him.More on the story below.Silent Truth Episode 6 reveals what no one saw coming View this post on Instagram Instagram PostIn Silent Truth episode 6, Nara decides to take all four friends, Naoto, Junichi, Keisuke, and Makiko, to the forest where the officer died twenty-three years ago. These were the first four people to see the dead body. Nara asks them to tell what they saw that day. Keisuke reveals that the four friends were divided into two groups, and they heard gunshots. Makiko and Junichi ran, met Keisuke, and found Naoto missing. Junichi decided to go and look for Naoto and asked Makiko and Keisuke to call the cops.Soon, they heard another gunshot, and Makiko and Keisuke decided to go back to the forest to find their friends. By this time, Junichi had already found Naoto and had gone ahead in the forest. Soon, the two other friends also found Naoto, and while Junichi asked them not to go further, they eventually did and found Keisuke's father dead at the scene.Junichi adds that he was the first to see the dead body, and after seeing it, he came back, and together the four friends went to the scene. Keisuke added that there were a total of five gunshots.Nara tries to understand the complete situation. However, she doesn't make sense of how the officer would have killed Oshima, who was running away from the police, considering the officer died first. This leads to her speculations that there was a third person who killed Oshima. Junichi starts crying and finally confesses to the crime. This came as a shock to the friends as well as the viewers, as Junichi, who was never once seen as a suspect, suddenly admits to the crime, completely changing the case.Though if we look closely, it was clear from the beginning of Silent Truth that Junichi was hiding something. In the first episode, he said that he committed a crime, without revealing what crime. However, he managed to stay away from suspicion for most of the time, as his role as an investigator made it easier for others to trust him.On the other hand, it also explains why he left his friends, as he didn't want to bring back the old memories. There were times in Silent Truth when he was most affected when compared to others, which could be because of the truth he was hiding all along.Until now, viewers have only seen the story revolving around the time capsule and Hideyuki's killer. However, Episode 6 came as a turning point, as not only was there a new revelation of Oshima being killed by the third person, but Junichi also admitted to it without hiding it anymore from others. Through the flashbacks, it's clear that it wasn't planned and was more of an emotional reaction that led to the mistake.Though we have to give a shout-out to Nara, who is not leaving even Junichi, though he is a police officer and is investigating the entire thing single-handedly.The confession in Silent Truth will most likely also break the trust between the four friends, who might take it as a betrayal. On the other hand, the episode also feels like the darkest chapter yet, as the crime was committed by a child, driven by anger and shock after seeing the death of the officer whom he respected like his own father. When it comes to how this changes the story further in Silent Truth, viewers have to remember that the incident happened when Junichi was just a child, which adds a new emotional layer to the crime. As for the consequences, viewers have to wait for the next episode of Silent Truth to find more details. Now that Nara knows Junichi was the last person to see and use the gun, it directly contradicts the earlier claim that Hideyuki took it. This could also lead Nara to question Naoto's statement, who clearly lied about the gun.Silent Truth is streaming on Netflix. Follow Soap Central for more such stories.
