Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 5 recap: Lamb confronts Diana

It looks like River filled in for Lamb on the Kazan operation. He wasted no time confronting Diana about her off-the-books operation in Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 5. While Diana still feigned ignorance, Lamb had understood the sequence of events. When the agency refused to fund a revenge mission on Russians for a previous attack, Diana orchestrated an off-the-books operation, using Sid Baker's identity and an outside investor. Diana later wiped Sid's records from the Park archives, bringing attention to the Slough House, which is why all of Lamb's agents are turning up dead.
Diana insisted she had everything in control, but Lamb needed answers in Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 5. He ordered Roddy Ho to look into Cantor's schedule, which led them to his biweekly visits to a ballet theatre. Since this was unusual, Lamb paid a visit and suspected the presence of a strange woman, Natasha. Lamb will likely learn about Cantor's connection to Natasha soon as he continues tailing her.
Sid learns about Diana's betrayal in Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 5

After the car crash, it looked like Jane was dead, but Jim still pursued Sid Baker into the woods. On the other hand, River reached the site of the crash and entered the woods to rescue Sid. Jim eventually caught up to Sid, and while she put up a brave fight, the assassin had the upper hand and dragged her to a lake. Thankfully, River arrived just in time to save Sid but became Jim's next target. Sid returned the favor by attacking Jim with a rock. In the end, River and Sid drowned the GRU agent in the lake, seemingly executing both of their enemies. But they were unaware that Jane's body had mysteriously vanished from the crash site, signalling her survival.
Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 5 took a turn when River and Sid were found by MI5 Agents, who were still working on Diana's orders, and took them to a military hangar instead of the Park. The duo was naturally suspicious, and River managed to connect Sid to Diana through a phone call, where she learned about the First Desk head's betrayal and her tragic fate. Diana confessed that she used Sid's identity to cover up the Kazan operation and her deal with Vasilly. In the end, Diana advised Sid to accept her fate and prove her worth to the team.
