Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 6 (finale) preview: The showdown at the safe house

Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 6 (finale), titled Judgement Day, will be released on Apple TV on October 21. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the official preview for the finale reads as follows:

"The safe house becomes unsafe as Lamb and Taverner finally join forces."

The latest season of Slow Horses adapts Mick Herron's novels Joe Country and Slough House, which saw Jackson Lamb and his Slough House agents take shelter in Diana Taverner's safehouse after two Russian assassins were hot on their tail. While River and Sid managed to eliminate Jim, it looked like Jane survived the car crash in Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 5, suggesting a showdown at the safehouse.

Slow Horses Season 6 marks the return of Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, along with the main ensemble cast of Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander and Olivia Cooke as Sidonie "Sid" Baker.

Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 6: What to expect?

Naturally, the Slow Horses Season 6 finale is one of the most anticipated. After the harrowing events of the penultimate episode, the final episode will feature a high-stakes and action-packed showdown at the safehouse, which will see Lamb's agents try to save themselves.

The synopsis teases one of the most unusual team-ups in Slow Horses Season 6, between Lamb and Diana Taverner. Throughout the season, Lamb was after Diana for putting his agents at risk. While Diana refused responsibility, Lamb learned about her Kazan operation, where she used Sid Baker's identity in a revenge operation, and how it compromised the safety of all his Agents. It remains to be seen if Diana will actually help Lamb and his Agents, but the preview teases a team-up between the two.

On the other hand, River sacrificed himself to stop Sid Baker from boarding the plane in Episode 5. His fate remains another highly anticipated point in the finale.

Lastly, Slow Horses Season 6 will feature a deadly showdown at Diana's safehouse. While Lamb's agents were safe, the Russians will likely catch on to them after River's stunt in the previous episode. The latest season shockingly killed JK Coe, but head writer Gaby Chiappe teased he would not be the only casualty.

In an interview with TV Insider, Chiappe teased more deaths in the finale:

"We know that in Slow Horses, people die, so you don’t think Coe is necessarily going to be the last on that body count. And who comes away from that and how is very much worth watching for, I would say.”

Suggesting a dire future for the agents holed up at the safehouse, she added:

"It’s like a sort of gathering storm. Everything is coming to bear on where everybody is gathered in that one house and all h*ll is coming for them."
