Spooky in Love cast and character guide: A look into the main figures of the supernatural rom-com

The story in Spooky in Love follows two completely different people whose lives unexpectedly become connected. The drama is based on the 2011 Korean movie Spellbound (also known as Chilling Romance), but it isn't a scene-for-scene remake.
The television version expands the original story by introducing more ghost cases, deeper character development, and additional storylines involving business competition and family conflicts. This means that fans will get to see more spirits and how the main couple will handle them.
Here's a look at the main stars of the K-drama:
1) Park Eun-bin as Cheon Yeo-ri

Cheon Yeo-ri is the wealthy CEO of the prestigious Reina Hotel. Although she appears confident and successful, she has carried a secret since childhood: she can easily connect with ghosts. But there's another twist.
Anyone who comes into physical contact with her can temporarily gain the ability to see ghosts. Because she knows how frightening and life-changing that experience can be, she avoids unnecessary contact by wearing gloves and keeping people at a distance.
Because of this, many believe she's the cold and rude owner of a luxurious hotel. But deep down, she's helpless and cannot risk anyone's life by even touching them directly.

2) Yang Se-jong as Ma Gang-uk

Ma Gang-uk is a respected prosecutor who values justice above everything else. Although fearless when confronting criminals, he is terrified of ghosts. When he meets Yeo-ri and ends up getting the same ability to see spirits, his life takes a chaotic turn.
However, he tries to remain calm and works as her investigative partner. Despite his fear, he stays determined to solve crimes and trust Yeo-ri.
3) Ong Seong-wu as Kang Min-hwan

Kang Min-hwan is also the owner of a luxurious hotel, who maintains a great bond with Yeo-ri. However, he's also deeply passionate about being at the top and is willing to manipulate situations for his benefit.
This means that he might prove to be a rival to Yeo-ri later in Spooky in Love or simply be her friend who also likes her. Since only two episodes are out, there's uncertainty about what Min-hwan actually wants.
Who are the supporting characters in Spooky in Love
While the trio has taken center stage in Spooky in Love, the K-drama also has other key characters. Let's take a look at them:
Jo Hye-joo as Cheon Ha-ri: She is Yeo-ri's cousin from her father's side, who is always looking into ways to snatch Yeo-ri's place in the hotel. Ha-ri is super calculative and vain.
Ye Soo-jung as Baek Gyeong-ja: She isn't just Yeo-ri's grandmother but also the powerful chairwoman of the Reina Group.
Cha Mi-kyung as Paeng Myo-soon: Ma Gang-uk's grandmother, who deeply cares about him.
Kim Do-wan as Park Seung-jae: He is Ha-ri’s fiancé and a professional golfer in Spooky in Love.
