Spider-Noir continues to be in discussion among fandom circles on the internet. It seems people can't get enough of the Prime Video superhero series, which was released in both black and white and color. Unlike the usual gimmick, the two versions of Noir do offer two different unique experiences, which is rare for superhero comic adaptations these days.

Consisting of eight episodes, the series follows private investigator Ben Reilly, who is forced back to his vigilante alter ego "The Spider", after retiring the mask. The second Spider-Noir episode, "Tread Lightly" forms an important puzzle piece in the entire series. That's because we see Ben Reilly don the Spider mask for the first time at the start of the third act of this episode.

Tread Lightly also sets up some key plotlines such as Silvermane and The Spider's rivalry. Brendan Gleeson and Nicolas Cage sell this rivalry throughout eight episodes of the series even though the former's villainous character doesn't get a final confrontation with the hero. Apart from these two, the entire series, including the second episode is stacked with an impressive cast.

Spider-Noir Episode 2 cast: Who appears in the Prime Video series?

Here are all the actors appearing in Spider-Noir Episode 2 Tread Lightly:

  • Nicolas Cage (Ben Reilly/The Spider)

Cage made his debut as Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). In that animated movie, Cage played a variant named Peter Parker, however, that's not the case with Spider-Noir, as he is playing Ben Riley in the series. For those who don't know, Ben Riley in the comics is a clone, however, that's not the case in this Prime Video series.

Nicolas Cage is synonymous with the superhero genre as a self-confessed fan of the medium. Back in the 1990s, Cage was famously cast as Superman in the canceled Superman movie, Superman Lives. We got a glimpse of what the canceled movie would've looked like in The Flash in a multiversal cameo.

  • Brendan Gleeson (Finbar "Finn" Byrne/Silvermane)

Millennials will recognize Brendan Gleeson as Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody in the Harry Potter movies. Apart from that, he impressed everyone with his role in The Banshees of Inisherin, for which he was even nominated for Academy Awards in the supporting actor category. In this series, he is playing the infamous and dangerous Irish mob boss Silvermane.

Gleeson's Silvermane is a formidable foe for our heroes even if he is just a human. Though the character dies in the end of the series, many are hoping for Brendan Gleeson to return in the yet to be greenlit second season. In the comics, Silvermane has a robotic body after being harmed by a common criminal. The finale may have also set this storyline up as Dirk Leyden/Megawatt turns on the mob boss.

  • Li Jun Li (Cat Hardy)

While Li Jun Li was seen in popular shows like Blue Bloods, Chicago P.D. Season 4, and Quantico, her career recieved a massive boost in last year's Sinners, for which she even won the Gotham Independent Film Awards Ensemble Tribute Award. In Noir, Li plays Cat Hardy, the show's version of Spider-Man's on-again, off-again love interest and antagonist from the comics, Black Cat/Felicia Hardy.

The show reimagines the character as a femme fatale who is also a love interest for Ben Reilly.

  • Abraham Popoola (Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone)

The Curse and Slow Horses star Abraham Popoola also plays an antagonistic role in the Prime Video series. In Noir, the actor is playing the sympathetic role of Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, a war veteran who was experimented upon, resulting in his life being in danger due to the powers. Much like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Spider-Noir presents a more sympathetic version of the Spider-Man villain.

  • Karen Rodriguez (Janet Ruiz)

Ben Reilly's secretary Janet Ruiz might be Karen Rodriguez's first major role after DEA Special Agent Clarissa Hardwick in Power Book IV: Force. Janet begins the series in a frustrated place as she hasn't been paid in a while.

But the series reveals more layers to her as she chooses to be on Ben's side despite all her problems, which is why her promotion as Ben's business partner is well earned.

  • Lamorne Morris (Robbie Robertson)

New Girl, Fargo Season 5, and Woke's Lamorne Morris is playing the iconic Spider-Man character Robbie Robertson in the series. Spider-Noir's version of Robbie much like his comic counterpart, he is a trusted ally to the wall-crawler. Journalist by profession, Robbie not only uncovers the scandal at the heart of the series, but also helps out Lonnie Lincoln.

  • Jack Huston (Flint Marko/Sandman)

Mayfair Witches and Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston offers the second live-action iteration of Flint Marko/Sandman after Thomas Haden Church. The show's version of Flint is a war veteran and he is friends with Lonnie Lincoln since the war days.

Like his comic book counterpart, Flint has sand powers, and his condition is worsening. Therefore, this is another sympathetic version of Spider-Man's more clear-cut villains.
