Spooky in Love Episode 12 reveals Yeo-ri and Gang-uk’s fate, Min-hwan’s downfall and the final twist — ending explained

Following the cliffhanger in the penultimate episode, the finale of Spooky in Love has made it to our screens. The story began as a woman troubled by the supernatural ability to see ghosts after losing a dear one and ended with a heartfelt reunion between the lovers.

So, what happened in the last episode? Did Yeo-ri survive, and was Gang-uk able to reunite with her? Thankfully, yes. Spooky in Love ended with Yeo-ri finally getting the chance to live the life she had been denied for so long, while Gang-uk stood by her side.

The finale also brought Min-hwan’s crimes to light and gave several characters a new beginning. Now that Yeo-ri can finally touch people, she walks freely with Gang-uk and their relationship continues to grow.

Spooky in Love finale recap: Yeo-ri gets another chance at life after Ji-hwan’s sacrifice

The finale of Spooky in Love starts with Yeo-ri being rushed to the hospital after she met with the accident. Gang-uk struggled to see Yeo-ri drenched in blood and also collapsed, after which the doctors revealed that the shock caused him to suffer a stress-related cardiac arrest.

He fortunately survives, and his condition improves. While Yeo-ri is still unconcious, she finds herself on the path toward the afterlife. Along the way, she encounters several spirits she had helped during her time dealing with ghosts. Their presence reminds her of all the connections she made and the lives she touched.

Just as Yeo-ri is about to leave for the netherworld, Ji-hwan appears and changes what happens next. He tells her that she still has reasons to remain in the living world and encourages her to go back instead.

Ji-hwan decides to take Yeo-ri's journey so that she can survive and go back to the real world. Ji-hwan already made a sacrifice for the girl he always loved and it became even more emotional when Gang-uk came to know that Ji-hwan is the one who donated his heart.

So when Gang-uk learns the truth in the finale of Spooky in Love, he visits Ji-hwan's grave and leaves the necklace there. It's his way of thanking Ji-hwan for everything he did for Gang-uk's survival. And then, Gang-uk feels emotional and happy to see Yeo-ri awake.

Spooky in Love finale recap: Yeo-ri helps expose Min-hwan and his dirty games

The last episode of Spooky in Love continues, and once Yeo-ri recovers, she asks Chairwoman Baek and the others to keep her condition private for the time being. Madam Paeng also realizes that she was wrong to separate Yeo-ri and Gang-uk and finally gives them her blessings.

Yeo-ri has a lot to do and after she returns home, Gang-uk looking after her, she begins investigating Seung-jae’s death. Gang-uk revealed that a bag was missing from the crime scene and soon, Yeo-ri also remembered that Seung-jae seemed to know something important about the yacht incident.

The couple continues the search and they visit Seung-jae's childhood home. There, they discover another copy of the crucial camcorder footage. The recoding provides evidence connected to what happened on the day of Ji-hwan's death and how Min-hwan is involved in this.

Meanwhile, Min-hwan thinks his future is secure. During a memorial event for Ji-hwan, he receives the announcement that he will become the new chairman of CL Group. His confidence soon disappears when Yeo-ri makes her way to him.

She plays the recovered footage in front of everyone, exposing Min-hwan’s role in Ji-hwan’s death in Spooky in Love. He tries to defend himself by blaming years of feeling rejected because he was adopted, but Yeo-ri refuses to accept those excuses.

Spooky in Love ending explained: Gang-uk arrests Min-hwan as Yeo-ri takes over Reina

After exposing Min-hwan, Yeo-ri also confronts him about the damags he has caused so far. He isn't just responsible for Seung-jae's death but also put Yeo-ri and Gang-uk's lives at risk. His plan almost killed the two, but they made it out alive due to Ji-hwan's sacrifice.

Soon, Gang-uk arrives with the police, as he was able to get a search warrant through the footage received from Seung-jae's home. Investigators subsequently find CCTV footage that strengthens the case against Min-hwan for Seung-jae’s murder, resulting in his arrest.

Min-hwan’s downfall is accompanied by another major arrest. Seo-hyeon investigates the financial wrongdoing surrounding Cheon Art Gallery and raids Gye-hee’s home, eventually taking her into custody.

The story in the finale then jumps forward by a year. Min-hwan is spending his time in the jail, and his mother visits him. She urges him to speak the truth, and Min-hwan finally accepts feeling guilty of everything he did and acknowledges that his other always stood by him despite his feeling of being unwanted.

Gye-hee's children also have to start a new journey as Ha-ri works at the Reina Hotel while Dong-jun remains on probation. Their mother tells them to respect Yeo-ri and follow the right path.

Gang-uk is back in Seoul after his transfer and continues his career while promising to follow the law. At Reina, Chairwoman Baek retires and formally passes leadership to Yeo-ri.

Spooky in Love ends on a much happier note. Yeo-ri is no longer afraid of physical touch, as the problem has been resolved. She and Gang-uk walk together outside Seina Hall, holding hands and enjoying everything that an ordinary couple does.
