Spooky in Love Episode 5 brings new ghostly twists as Kang-wook and Yeo-ri grow closer

The recently released episode of Spooky in Love revealed that Kang-wook had survived and wasn't actually dead. While Yeo-ri stays with him in the hospital, she later asks him to stay away from her so that he won't see ghosts anymore, as a month had already passed.

However, neither Kang-wook nor Yeo-ri is able to stay away from each other as circumstances around them keep bringing them together. Episode 5 also highlights their growing feelings, with the undeniable jealousy they feel toward each other's alleged companions.

Furthermore, they decide to work on a cold case dating back 300 years.

Spooky in Love Episode 5 recap: Kang-wook survives, and Yeo-ri decides to part ways

In the previous episode of Spooky in Love, Kang-wook was left fatally injured, with Yeo-ri mistaking the real Kang-wook for his ghost. However, episode 5 clears the air when Kang-wook reveals that he is, in fact, alive.

Later, Pil-dong and Hyeong-min leave Yeo-ri to keep an eye on Kang-wook in the hospital. Since it's the last day of the month when Kang-wook would see ghosts, Yeo-ri helps him deal with the numerous hospital ghosts. The next day, they part ways, with Yeo-ri asking Kang-wook to stay away from her so that he doesn't see any more ghosts.

While the duo agrees never to see each other again, it becomes difficult for both of them as they miss the time they spent together solving cold cases, catching the culprits, and bringing justice to the ghosts so they can pass on.

Spooky in Love Episode 5 recap: Min-hwan begins to enter Yeo-ri's life

Apart from Kang-wook, Episode 5 also shows Min-hwan trying his best to gain Yeo-ri's attention. From protecting her from the press to taking her side in front of Ha-ri, Min-hwan proves to be a reliable ally for the time being. He also asks Yeo-ri to accompany him to an event where she accidentally meets Kang-wook again.

The episode highlights how both Kang-wook and Min-hwan are trying to woo Yeo-ri, with one protecting her in the professional setting while the other tries to protect her from the supernatural without being able to see the ghosts anymore.

Not only Kang-wook but Yeo-ri also begins to feel a little jealous when she sees Kang-wook with a woman, confirming that they both have feelings for each other.

Spooky in Love Episode 5 ending: Kang-wook and Yeo-ri decide to solve a centuries-old cold case

In Episode 5 of the supernatural K-drama, Kang-wook realises that the tips they get for the cold cases are the only way he would be able to see Yeo-ri, as she is the one solving the crimes with the help of the ghosts. He does get a chance to see her and tries to protect her from the murderer she accidentally encounters, but fails as Yeo-ri seems to be more than capable of protecting herself.

While they bicker about Min-hwan and Seo-hyeon, they also reveal that none of them is dating the people they attended the event with. In the end, while Yeo-ri tries to leave Kang-wook, she later decides against it. They both then agree to team up and solve a 300-year-old cold case involving a courtesan and a Prince.

As per the teaser for the next episode, while the duo will work together to solve the case, Kang-wook might receive bad news about Yeo-ri's decision to marry Min-hwan.
