Star City Episode 3 brings forth many details of the questions that were left unanswered in the first two episodes of the series. The truth related to the mole, along with the Chief Designer’s plans, is further explored in this episode of the series.
From the beginning of this episode, there is a steady rise in the tension, which brings forth multiple twists and turns throughout Star City Episode 3.

Luna 17 mission takes a tragic turn while the truth about the mole is unveiled in Star City Episode 3
Star City Episode 3 starts with Tanya Mironova receiving an X-ray and being warned that it might be the last X-ray for a while. She returns home and starts to play the music from X-ray. While Tanya is listening to the music, Irirna listens to everything that is happening in Tanya’s home.
Soon, Valya arrives and asks her to stop playing contraband records, as it might put them in trouble. Tanya expresses her disappointment with the situation that she is in because of Valya Mironov. Soon, the two of them begin to argue. After Valya leaves, Tanya begins to cry, lamenting about her situation. Star City Episode 3 continues with Valya and Sahsa preparing for the Luna 17 mission. Valya and Sasha prepare for the mission related to the hab.
Though Sasha and Arseni begin to joke around, Valya reprimands them and tells them to focus on the mission. Sasha later speaks to Valya about his rude behavior during the training session. Valya reminds Sasha that the mission is extremely dangerous. Valya apologizes for his behavior and tells Sasha that the stress of the mission is getting to him.
He also opens up about shouting at Tanya in the morning for no reason. Sasha, with his distinct skills, manages to calm Valya down. On the other hand, the chief designer and his friend discuss the design while Sergei Nikilov tells the engineers about the probe that will go down to Venus. Mikhail worries about the security of Star City as the Venus launch is just two weeks away.
Hearing Mikhail’s worries about the security of Star City, Sergei tells him that the Chief Designer has planned it all. Star City Episode 3 continues with Valya returning home. He finds that Tanya is still awake. He apologizes to her for his behavior while Irina listens to it all. On the other hand, when Sasha returns home and tells Anastasia that there will be no space suits, she is surprised and begins to worry.
The next day, things take a turn for the Chief Designer when he is stopped by Lyudmilla while he is carrying the parts of the spaceship for the mission on the truck. Chief Designer tries to tell Lyudmilla that the instruments that he is carrying are sensitive to the mission, so he needs to arrive on time. However, Lyudmilla does not listen and begins to look through the truck. Lyudmilla eventually lets the Chief Designer pass through.
Star City Episode 3 continues with Arseni, Sasha, and Pavel being prepared for the takeoff of Luna 17 while the Chief Designer observes. The launch happens successfully, and Valya returns home to tell Tanya that they could go to a concert as his part is done. The next day, things take a turn when Tanya comes across Irina. Tanya introduces herself as Irina’s daughter’s music teacher at her school.
Tanya then invites Irina to her home, to which Irina agrees. On the other hand, the Chief Designer shows Valya the bathysphere, which is a submersible deep-sea observation vehicle that will be used to send the equipment to Venus. During her visit to Tanya’s house, Tanya asks Irina about her job. Irina gets quite anxious as she listens to every conversation in Tanya’s home. Later during their conversation, Irina opens up about her husband and tells Tanya that he is not a good man. At the end of Star City Episode 3, things take a turn in the Luna 17 mission when a high frequency begins to interrupt the signals.
Sergei gets suspicious and warns the Chief Designer right away. Lyudmilla is also warned about the situation and thinks that it is sabotage. She tells them to reboot the entire system despite the danger it might cause to the mission. Pavel is asked to do the reboot, which takes a turn when they lose control of the spaceship completely. After Arsenei depressurises the hatch according to the command, he is killed immediately.
On the other hand, things take a turn for Valya as well, and it is revealed at the end of Star City Episode 3 that Valya is actually the mole. He comes across Ekaterina and tells her that he will not be able to do it anymore, as they promised him that it would be the last time. His initial task was to plant the transmitter on Luna 17. However, as the broadcast has failed, Valya will have to keep working as the mole.
