Falling into the slipstream wormhole causes immense damage to the Enterprise. However, after facing numerous challenges, the Enterprise is able to get out of the difficult situation. Besides the Enterprise, M’Benga is also impacted in this episode. Through M’Benga’s situation, the distinct dynamic that has been formed between M’Benga and Chapel is also unveiled. In the interview with ScreenRant, Jess Bush, who takes on the role of Chapel in the series, reveals that Dr. Boyce’s arrival has not been suitable for Chapel. She points out that Dr. Boyce’s arrival has left Chapel feeling terrible and “not great”. She also has not been able to “fully zoom out on”. However, in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 Episode 6, Chapel’s feelings about Dr. Boyce shift as she understands that she has to “move through the journey of coming to terms with her independence”. In episode 6, Chapel is also able to understand that she can “love and protect somebody without having to be forever attached,” which becomes a crucial turning point.
