Each new adventure in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 unlocks a different relationship dynamic in the Enterprise. While Scotty took charge during the engineering crisis, sickbay was handling its own nightmare. With multiple injuries across the crew, Doctor M'Benga and Nurse Chapel had their hands full. However, ''Off-Hour'' took a harrowing turn when the ship shook out of control, crushing M'Benga's midsection, and he was left pinned against a wall by a table. While Chapel was determined to save the lives of the crew, M'Benga's critical and life-threatening injury added a personal stake, which tested their relationship. In his interview, Babs Olusanmokun said that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4's latest crisis forced M'Benga and Chapel to reflect on their shared history, both as combat medics who served in the Klingon War and as the Enterprise crew. While M'Benga forced Chapel to abandon him, believing he was a lost cause, the latter did not give up and eventually saved him using makeshift cryogenics.Olusanmokun revealed how the latest emergency changes how M'Benga and Chapel view their relationship:''There's been something so strong between them that is like, “No, if you can't take care of this relationship, then who are you?” There's a sense of home for both. I think this episode was that, right? It's like, “I can save you.” “No, you can't. We're both going to die.” “No, I can save you!” She convinces him, and ultimately, I think he was very, very deeply grateful for that.''Exploring Scotty's ascent in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 View this post on Instagram Instagram PostStar Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 Episode 6 can be considered a stepping stone in Scotty's journey to becoming the 'miracle worker' from the original series. While Scotty eventually became the Chief Engineer of the Enterprise, the latest episode proves that he had humble beginnings. It was his Starfleet Academy instructor Pelia who taught him how to 'read' the Enterprise.Scotty started 'Off-Hour' by working on a Jefferies Tube, while Pelia was trapped in her quarters. In a moment of pure frustration, Scotty blamed the ship for their latest disaster, complaining that the Enterprise is failing to keep them alive in the blackness of space. This was when Scotty learned his biggest lesson in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Pelia made him understand that while all ships have glitches, it is the job of a chief engineer to predict and fix those problems. This lesson came in handy during the final minutes of the episode, when the crew had only 30 seconds until the Enterprise crossed a "warp threshold.'' However, Scotty felt the hull in the Jefferies tube and assured the crew that the Enterprise would hold long enough, suggesting that he had learned to 'read' the ship. It was certainly an important moment for Scotty, which took him one step further toward becoming the miracle worker, as Quinn revealed:''I think that is his journey. We all know that he becomes the miracle worker — it's just taken lessons like that to get there. He's got to listen and be present and not panic, and follow in the footsteps of Pelia.''Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 Episode 6 is streaming on Paramount+.For the latest scoops on your favorite TV shows and movies, follow SoapCentral.
