While many Crossing characters have been at the centre of precarious situations across three seasons, none were as harrowing as Sully, Maggie's estranged father. The CW drama series featured not one but two tragedies for Harry Sullivan, which resulted in nail-biting cliffhangers that concluded the first two seasons of the show.

In the Sullivan's Crossing Season 1 finale, while reflecting on the moment he accidentally hit Lola while chasing Maggie, Sully suffered a major heart attack, which seemed like Scott Patterson's run on the series was over. However, the Season 2 premiere revealed that while Sully recovered from the heart attack, he was diagnosed with Wernicke’s Encephalopathy, a condition caused by a Vitamin B1 deficiency.

Sully's tragedies did not end here as the Sullivan's Crossing Season 2 finale found him amidst the brutal diner fire, which almost took Finn's life. While Cal managed to get Finn out of the burning diner, Sully was still trapped inside when the building collapsed.
