Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 10 (finale), titled Being Alive, was released on Apple TV on October 7.

The Season 4 finale of the platform's sports-comedy series wrapped up the existing storylines and teased what's next for Roy, Ted, Rebecca, Keeley and the Lady Greyhounds. But before that, Episode 10 featured Mae's funeral, who tragically died in the previous episode. The finale honoured Mae, whose will became the deciding factor in Richmond's ownership.

According to FilmiFeed, the Ted Lasso Season 4 finale also checked in with Roy, who was naturally scared about being a father. Amidst this major change, Roy's agent brought exciting news. Chelsea offered Roy the head coach position, presenting an exciting yet scary opportunity.

Here's what happened in the finale.

One of the biggest questions looming over the Ted Lasso Season 4 finale was AFC Richmond's future. In the penultimate episode, Zelda was revealed to be the person who was secretly buying Richmond shares and she confirmed her intentions in the finale. Rebecca and Higgins were naturally shocked, as they suspected Rupert. Zelda revealed that she was eyeing ownership of a Premier League club and believed that she had outsmarted Rebecca.

However, Episode 10 delivered a twist. Hugo transferred the Milk Sisters' shares to Rebecca instead of Zelda. It turns out that Hugo was tired of Zelda's dominant nature, which led him to side with Rebecca, with each woman owning 49% of the shares.

It all came down to the remaining 2% of shares in the Ted Lasso Season 4 finale, which belonged to Mae. Much to Zelda's displeasure, Mae had transferred her shares to Rebecca in her will, making her the proud owner of 51% of Richmond shares. Season 4 ended with Rebecca still at the helm of Richmond. She allowed Zelda to retain her stake without any real influence over the club.

After much back-and-forth, Roy decided to accept Chelsea's offer in the Ted Lasso Season 4 finale. His decision initially made Rebecca furious, who saw it as a betrayal of the club that recognized his potential. But Roy confessed that Chelsea was a part of his history and he was ready to take a risk for the first time in his life. Rebecca eventually understood and respected Roy's decision, assuring him that Richmond's gates would always be open for him.

In the Season 4 finale, Roy packed his things and geared up for a new chapter in his life.

The Lady Greyhounds earned support

One of the most wholesome moments in the Ted Lasso Season 4 finale was a major win for the Lady Greyhounds. The team was gearing up for their final match of the season against Crystal Palace at Nelson Road. Keeley was adamant about a huge turnout and she came up with an interesting campaign idea. She compiled footage of Rebecca with the players, resulting in a huge turnout at Nelson Road for the team's final match.

The Ted Lasso Season 4 finale did not reveal whether the Lady Greyhounds won their final match. They had achieved something far greater than victory: the support and respect from people.

How did Ted Lasso Season 4 end?

Ted Lasso Season 4 finale concluded on a definitive note for Roy, Keeley and the Lady Greyhounds. The episode also revealed that Mae left Crown & Anchor with Baz, Jeremy and Paul, meaning the place will continue to serve Richmond supporters, even after Mae's death.

A final conversation between Rebecca and Ted suggested that the latter was ready to move into a more permanent spot with the men's team. With Roy off to Chelsea, the position was open and Ted showed interest. The episode hinted that while Ted might return to the men's team, Alice might have an expanded role in the women's team. Ted assured Rebecca that Alice had transformed and was ready to take more responsibility for the team.

Surprisingly, Rebecca even asked Matthijs to marry her, concluding the season with her engagement.

According to TV Line, the finale concluded with Mae reciting Mary Oliver's poem When Death Comes, neatly tying the poem's themes of mortality and living life to the fullest with the characters' choices.
