The sports comedy drama has topped the charts in almost 82 countries, including England, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Singapore, New Zealand, Vietnam, and the Netherlands, to name a few.

Within a day of its premiere, the Jason Sudeikis-starring sports comedy has climbed to the No. 1 spot on the streaming platform, overtaking Action and Silo in the streaming charts. The series has managed to secure the second and third rankings in the streaming charts, reflecting that the show is performing well globally. The new season received a warm response from both critics and the audience.

As per the current ratings, Season 4 of Ted Lasso holds a solid 90% critics' and 86 % audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. With over 1.6k votes, the premiere episode of Season 4 has garnered an 8.1 IMDb rating.

Ted Lasso Season 4 premiered with the episode titled 'Home'. At the end of Season 3, Ted left Richmond and returned to Kansas City to be closer to his son Henry and coach a youth soccer team. The new season picks up three years later with Ted now working as an assistant in a Kansas supermarket.

Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 1 is set three years after Ted departs from Richmond. Turns out, he has taken up the job of a store assistant manager in Kansas.

Rebecca, Higgins, and Keeley travel to offer him a coaching role in Richmond's second-division women's football team, the Lady Greyhounds. They meet at Gates Bar B-Q, where Rebecca finally reveals the reason for the trip: she wants Ted to return to Richmond.

Initially, Ted is reluctant to accept the offer due to his commitment to his son Henry. However, Ted's mother, Dottie, encourages him to take up the position and pursue his career as a coach. In the end, Ted finally makes a decision, and throughout the episode it seems pretty clear that he misses London and football.

Instead of choosing between his family and career, Ted asks both Michelle and his son, Henry, if they would like to move to London. When they both agree, he finally accepts Rebecca's offer to return to Richmond.

Episode 2, titled Curioser and Conquerer!, is set to release on August 12, 2026, on Apple TV.
