The only Animal Control Season 5 cast guide you need before the new chapter

Animal Control Season 5 has been scheduled to come out this evening on FOX and brings back all key characters from the last chapter. The story begins after the events of Season 4, and some of the important plots include the precinct merger, Emily being suspended because of her secret relationship with Shred, and the growing rivalry with Templeton.

The show serves as a workplace comedy about Seattle’s municipal animal control employees. They have a simple task of handling animals, and what's interesting is that most of the problems come when these employees deal with humans, not animals.

The series was created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling, with Tad Quill serving as showrunner. Joel McHale stars in the series and is also an executive producer.

The main cast and characters of Animal Control Season 5

With Animal Control Season 5 set to come out today, here's a look at the main characters who continue working together at the newly combined precinct (via Seat42F):

1) Joel McHale as Frank Shaw

Frank is a sarcastic and negative senior animal control officer who used to be a police officer. He lost his police job after revealing corruption in the precinct. He is extremely good at understanding animals, but he finds it much harder to understand people. His rude and bitter behavior often hides his personal struggles. He works closely with Shred and often has disagreements with Templeton.

2) Michael Rowland as Fred "Shred" Taylor

Shred is Frank’s positive and innocent partner. Before joining animal control, he was a professional snowboarder or skier. Unlike Frank, he tries to stay cheerful even when things at work become difficult. He is in a relationship with Emily, which has now become public.

3) Vella Lovell as Emily Price

Emily is another key figure returning in Animal Control Season 5 and, as seen in the previous chapters of the show, she is the friendly but nervous director of the animal control precinct. She is socially awkward but also energetic, competitive, and creative.

For example, she comes up with ideas such as taking animal photos for social media. She often disagrees with Templeton. At the beginning of Season 5, she is still suspended because she had a relationship with Shred, who works under her.

4) Ravi Patel as Amit Patel

Amit is an animal control officer and Victoria’s work partner. He is a family-oriented person but often feels stressed because he has a large family, including his wife Maya and daughter Addy.

When his family travels to India for a longer period because of his mother-in-law’s illness, Amit suddenly has much more freedom. This causes him to become more adventurous and get into more trouble.

5) Grace Palmer as Victoria Sands

Victoria, who is also returning for Animal Control Season 5, is a fun-loving and practical animal control officer from New Zealand who works with Amit. She has a relaxed personality and enjoys having fun. She has an ongoing playful relationship with Frank that includes jokes, pranks, and some flirting. In Animal Control Season 5, she becomes attached to a small pig that strongly bonds with her.

Gerry Dee as Templeton Dudge: Mean-spirited officer (originally from the Central Precinct) who becomes a major rival after the merger.

Kyla Pratt as Daisy Cannon (or Daisy): Templeton’s partner (introduced and promoted in Season 4, present going forward). She is part of the "nemeses" dynamic with Templeton against Frank’s team.

Ken Jeong as Roman Park: The ostentatious dog trainer and influencer returns as a major antagonist. He has a city contract and has already shut down one precinct with high-tech methods.
