The Boys' upcoming spin-off, Vought Rising has recently wrapped filming and is currently in post-production. The spin-off is going to be set in the 1950s and will follow the early days of Soldier Boy, Stormfront, and the beginning of the Vought corporation. Jensen Ackles will be reprising his role as Soldier Boy, and the actor had earlier mentioned Vought Rising is intended to have multiple seasons.Now, The Boys' showrunner and creator of Vought Rising, Eric Kripke has not only revealed the tentative date of release for Season 1, but also a major update for Vought Rising Season 2's development and release timeline.The Boys' showrunner on Vought Rising Season 2The Boys is coming to an end with its fifth and final season, which will premiere on Prime Video on April 8, 2026. While the story of Homelander and the Boys will come to an end, the spin-off, Vought Rising will take viewers back in time and let them enjoy yet another show from the franchise. However, it's going to be a while until the spin-off releases. In a recent interview with Collider, The Boys' showrunner and creator of Vought Rising, Eric Kripke, spoke about the spin-off's release saying,"I've seen cuts through Episode 7, I think, at this point, and they're good! It's really coming together. I think people are gonna dig it." It's not so much about the marketing plan as much as it's gonna take us eight months to just even finish all the VFX. So, we're not going to be done until November, December at the earliest anyway, and then Amazon needs time to localize it to all the different markets."Thus, after postproduction is completed and Amazon has completed the necessary work on its end, the show will be ready to be released. However, as Kripke said, that will most likely not be until 2027. Besides this, Eric Kripke also gave an update regarding Vought Rising Season 2, saying,"Paul Grelong, who runs it and has been one of my clutch writers on The Boys, he and I go all the way back to Revolution, and is an old friend. He has some really exciting notions about what Season 2 could be that are really innovative, which he's been pitching. So, it's more like he's been kind of spinning and coming up with new stuff."Thus, we can tell that the creators and producers behind Vought Rising aren't waiting till the release of Season 1 of Vought Rising to start working on Season 2. Vought Rising is already in the early stages of development, and thus if it gets renewed by Amazon, and the filming and logistics go smoothly, we can most likely expect Season 2 at the end of 2028.
