The only Chad Powers Season 2 cast guide you need

With just two days left until Chad Powers Season 2's release, now might be the perfect time to take another look at the cast bringing the new season to life. Created by Glen Powell (famous for How to Make A Killing and The Blue Angels) and Michael Waldron (famous for Loki, Heels, and The Black Hole), the upcoming season will be picking up right where the previous season ended, with Chad's secret being revealed to Ricky and the Catfish facing a big game.

The series got renewed for Season 2 in December 2025 and is scheduled to release on September 3. The upcoming season will have a total of six episodes, revolving around Chad as he tries to lead the Catfish to the college football playoffs. However, it might not be so easy, as Coach Hudson and Gerry might start to notice that something is off.

Who plays who in the Chad Powers Season 2 cast?

1) Glen Powell as Russ Holliday/Chad Powers

Golden Globe nominee Glen Powell will play the character Russ Holliday/Chad Powers in Chad Powers Season 2. Powell's famous works include Hit Man, Everybody Wants Some!! and Top Gun: Maverick.

His character is a former football star who decides to create a new identity for himself. Viewers get to see his two sides. When he is Chad Powers, he is very easygoing and doesn't push too hard to win people over. However, when he is Russ, he is pretty guarded. However, with Chad's growing image, he will have a tough time keeping Russ out of the equation.

2) Colton Ryan as Gerry Dougan

The Girl from Plainville star Colton Ryan will play Gerry Dougan in Chad Powers Season 2. Ryan is famous for his role in Dear Evan Hansen, Poker Face, and Little Voice.

His character in Chad Powers is fierce and doesn't like Chad after he lost his spot to him. He seems to have a bigger role in Season 2 as he starts to feel that there's something weird about Chad and his personal life. It will be interesting to see if he is able to figure out his secret.

3) Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny

Frankie A. Rodriguez is famous for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, where he played Carlos. His other famous works include Modern Family and Only Children.

In Chad Powers Season 2, he will play Danny, a person who is very helpful to Russ in keeping the whole new identity together without revealing it to anyone. He even helps with fixing the disguise and giving advice to Russ.

4) Perry Mattfeld as Coach Ricky Hudson

In The Dark, star Perry Mattfeld appears as Coach Ricky Hudson in Chad Powers. She is also famous for Shameless, Mending the Line, and The Idea of You.

Her character, Ricky, is the daughter of coach Jake Hudson, who wants to prove her worth without being identified as the coach's daughter. At this point, Ricky knows that Chad is none other than Russ. It will be interesting to see how their equation and bond evolve from here now that the secret is out.

5) Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson

Steve Zahn, famous for War for the Planet of the Apes and Rescue Dawn, appears as Jake Hudson, the father of Ricky. He is the Catfish coach who has been trying his best to keep the team going even after years of bad results.

Chad gives Jake hope. However, Season 2 will show how things change once Jake gets closer to the truth about his star quarterback.

6) Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd

Quentin Plair's famous works include Tiny Beautiful Things, Not Without Hope, and Genius. In Chad Powers Season 2, he will appear as Coach Byrd, another coach working with the Catfish players. He even helps Chad win, and though he sees Chad's behavior, it seems like he has absolutely no clue about Chad's real identity.

7) Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager

Wynn Everett is famous for her roles in Palmer, Agent Carter, and She Dances. In Season 2, she will appear as Tricia Yeager, an important figure behind Catfish, and has a big say in what happens with the team. Her character is direct and tough, and she just wants the team to perform better and even sees hope in Chad.

The Chad Powers Season 2 will also reportedly include Colin Woodell as Jay, Carey O’Donnell as Mr. Brent, Gillian Jacobs as Jerri Dougan, and Nate Varrone as Dustin.
