The Four Seasons Season 2 ends on a hopeful note. Created by Lang Fisher, Tina Fey, and Tracy Wigfield, this dramedy series follows three suburban couples who go on a vacation together, but tensions arise mid-trip when one of them splits up. Season 1 ended with Nick's death, and Season 2 picks up right after as the group struggles to figure out life without Nick.
Kate and Jack support each other in these difficult times. Elsewhere, Danny feels that having a child might solve the problems. Meanwhile, Anne and Ginny team up to take care of baby Gino.
Here's what happens in The Four Seasons Season 2.
The Four Seasons Season 2 ending explained: Danny and Claude move back to Philadelphia to take care of Beverly
At the beginning of Season 2, we see Danny struggling to cope after Nick's death. Even though Claude has made up his mind that they probably won't have a baby, Danny seems frustrated with Claude's choice. He tells him that he really wants a child.
In Episode 4, they finally decide that they will not have a baby. They announced that they would be moving to Claude's hometown in Italy.
Initially, when Kate learns about this arrangement, she and Danny fight. However, eventually they mend their differences.
Anne, Jack, and Kate visit the couple in their new home in Italy. However, in Episode 8, Danny's mother, Beverly, goes to the hospital and finds out that she needs long-term care. Beverly does not want to move to Italy, but Danny tries to convince her. When Claude learns about this, he decides to move back to Philadelphia to take care of Beverly.
However, Anne decides to stay back at their house in Trento, Italy.
Ginny names her son Gino, and Anne meets Mark Brett

Ginny names her baby Gino, and she reveals that Nick always wanted to name a son after his grandfather Eugene. Thus, to honor Nick's choices, Ginny names her son Gino.
Mark Brett (Steven Pasquale) appears in Episode 3 of The Four Season Season 2. He met the friends while they were vacationing at the Jersey Shore. Jack becomes friends with Mark eventually. When Kate learns about Mark's single status, she tries to set him up with Anne. Kate and Danny are clearly worried about Anne. She tries to fill the void in her life by taking care of Gino. However, her friends make her realise that she cannot choose not to live her life.
Although she is skeptical about the idea, she decides to meet Mark. He gives her his number. However, he doesn't hear from her until months later when she relocates to Italy. She wants to give their relationship a chance, but turns out Mark already has a girlfriend. Anne gets a bit jealous and to prove that she's having a good time, she accidentally sends him an inappropriate picture.
Jack runs a marathon in The Four Seasons Season 2

Jack is hellbent on running a marathon, as we see in the initial episode of The Four Seasons Season 2. Kate initially agrees to accompany him but steps back after a small mishap.
The marathon becomes Jack's escape point for his anxiety and anger for losing Nick, or the fear of their group falling apart. In The Four Seasons, Season 2, Episode 5, he gets injured, and that almost breaks his dream.
In The Four Seasons Season 2 Episode 7, we learn that the marathon would take place in Italy during the weekend they decide to visit Claude and Danny. Kate encourages Jack to run the marathon. Jack finally participates in it, but in the last lap, he gets tired. Kate joins him on the run and motivates him. During the run, they have a heartfelt chat that somehow heals the cracks in their relationship.
