The Gilded Age Season 4 trailer reveals new challenges coming for the New York City elites
The Gilded Age Season 4 trailer opens with Oscar Van Rhijn (played by Blake Ritson) talking about how the Russells have risen high in society, but at the cost of Bertha (played by Carrie Coon) and George's (played by Morgan Spector) marriage. The Season 3 finale showed us how Bertha's actions drove George to rethink their marriage and eventually leave their house for their Newport estate.
The Season 4 trailer doesn't tell us where George is, but it does reveal that he has still not returned home. While Bertha will try to urge him to return home during a difficult time, it is yet to be seen if George will give in. Besides dealing with a complicated marriage, George is going to be dealing with the industrialist, John D. Rockefeller, who will be giving George quite the difficult time in business.
The Gilded Age Season 4 trailer also reveals that Agnes (played by Christine Baranski) is going to entertain the 22nd President of the United States, Grover Cleveland. On the other hand, Ada (played by Cynthia Nixon) might not be able to keep supporting the Van Rhijn family financially for too long because she has been bearing too many expenses for quite some time.
In the new trailer, Peggy's (played by Denée Benton) father tells Dr. William Kirkland (played by Jordan Donica) that a new position has opened up in Washington. While William will seriously consider the position, Peggy might not be ready to move given the fact that she has created a life in New York City. Moreover, as the couple prepares for their wedding, William's mother, Elizabeth Kirkland (played by Phylicia Rashad), will attempt to force upon her choices over Peggy's.
The trailer also shows us that Marian (played by Louisa Jacobson) has decided to pursue a career as a teacher, and is content with it. However, she and Larry (played by Harry Richardson) still have romantic feelings for one another, which the show is expected to explore in Season 4. While we don't know if George and Bertha will reconcile as a couple, they will be facing something huge together. We're not told what that obstacle is, but we see Bertha say:
"We have to right the ship before it takes us all down... This is war."
The new cast members joining The Gilded Age Season 4 are Dennis Haysbert as Dr. Reginald Harris, Jim Gaffigan as Grover Cleveland, Taylor Trensch as Oliver, James Scully as Lee Klein, Maggie Kuntz as Fiona Summers, Neal Huff as John D. Rockefeller, and Bonnie Milligan as Mrs. Knapp Curtis. Dallas Roberts, Elizabeth Marvel, Andrew Burnap, Adrienne Warren also star in undisclosed roles.
The Gilded Age Season 4 will have 8 episodes and will premiere with the first one on HBO on November 1, 2026.
