The Greatest trailer reveals that the show will follow the career of Muhammad Ali from the beginning, even before he decided to go pro. However, building his career wasn't easy, as the trailer teases. It shows us how Ali and his father clashed over his choices, which created quite some family issues for the heavyweight boxer.
The trailer shows us the fame Ali's hard work and talent brought him and how the fight with Sonny Liston (played by Amin Joseph) challenged his greatness at one point. Moreover, the trailer touches upon Muhammad Ali's 1967 conviction, teasing that we will be seeing how that chapter of his life unfolded.
Ali was convicted in a criminal court for refusing to report for induction into the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. But the U.S. Supreme Court later unanimously overturned that conviction. For his choice to not go fight in the Vietnam War, Ali was celebrated by the African American community.
We will also see how Ali came to know Malcolm X and eventually joined the Nation of Islam, changing his name from Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. to Muhammad Ali.
