Hulu's King of the Hill Season 15 is set to premiere on July 20. Before watching the new season, let's look at what happened in the previous chapter. Season 14 showed Hank Hill and his wife Peggy returning to Arlen after spending their personal moments in Saudi Arabia. When the couple came to the town, they saw their son Bobby had started working as a chef at a Robata restaurant in Dallas.
Season 14 has a total of 10 episodes, and each runs for 24 to 25 minutes. Critics praised the production team for bringing back the show's spirit in Season 14 while presenting old characters to fit into a modern setting.
The old chapter ended with Hank refusing to invest in Boomhauer's new hog control business, but he began to reconsider the start-up after his former boss, Buck Strickland, got involved by mistake. Meanwhile, Connie and Bobby started dating each other. However, their relationship felt uncertain because they tried to act like mature people while still holding on to their childhood memories.

King of the Hill Season 14: The couple returns to Arlen

Eight years after the original finale of King of the Hill, Hank and Peggy returned from Saudi Arabia to a very different Arlen. Bobby became the head chef and co-owner of a Japanese-German fusion restaurant with chain Wassena Song and was navigating adulthood while reconnecting with familiar faces.
Season 14 opened with Hank and Peggy settling back into Arlen, while Bobby's success in the restaurant world led him to date a college student and bump into a 13-year-old Latin American girl, Connie Souphanousinphone. Hank continued to struggle with a modern Dallas and was tempted to accept a job offer to return overseas.
Hank's and Bobby's modern father-son journey

In episode 2, Hank opened a homebrewing business with his son Bobby. When Bobby overhelped Hank, the moment sparked a father-son tension. The two entered a Dallas competition as rivals but ended up quitting the contest to spend quality time together.
Viewers have also seen a clash between Bobby and Hank in the episode 'Bobby Gets Grilled' after Hank discovered that Bobby's restaurant ran on Japanese charcoal instead of propane. By the end, Hank admitted that Bobby's authenticity in the food is what made it great.
The episode 'Chore Money, Chore Problems' showed that Hank tried to keep himself busy by joining an app for handymen. Through this app, he provided his handyman services and completed various chores for the customers who hired him. Meanwhile, Bobby discovered that Chain and Connie were dating, and Connie set Bobby up with one of her friends at a dance club.
Bill's fake funeral for Peggy Ale
In King of the Hill Season 14 Episode 5, Hank refereed soccer games, rekindling a secret affection for the sport after learning about it abroad. Dale mistook this for foreign brainwashing.
The next episode tracked Bill's bizarre lie to his barbershop buddies, where he said that Peggy was his wife. Instead of admitting the truth, Bill held a fake funeral for Peggy. Meanwhile, Bobby hooked up with an activist named Willow and later discovered an open relationship between Connie and Chain.
Peggy's bedbug library disaster
Episode 7 of King of the Hill Season 14 highlighted that Willow joined Bobby because he bonded with Hank at a Dallas Cowboys fantasy football camp, but she and Hank ended up in a relationship. Elsewhere, Peggy built a lending library only to discover that the books contained bedbugs.
In the next episode, Hank found out that Khan and Min were secretly divorced. They swore him to secrecy, but the truth came out at their fake 30th anniversary party. Episode 9 showed Hank taking his teenage half-brother, Good Hank, to a toxic masculinity retreat. Eventually, Hank exposed leader Ellis as a fraud.
Meanwhile, Peggy sprained her ankle and suffered panic attacks in the MRI machine, and Bobby let her stay with him. In the final episode, Hank was reluctant to invest in Boomhauer’s hog-hunting business, but Peggy signed up, and the team sold the business, tripling their investment. Meanwhile, Bobby and Connie grew closer.
King of the Hill Season 14 ending explained: Memorial for Jonathan Joss

The ending of Season 14 showed the memorial scene of Jonathan Joss. He was tragically murdered two months before the season premiered, and the finale closed with a dedication to him.
The episode itself didn’t depict a character's death within the story, but the tribute meant a real-world farewell. The ending statement:
“The closing memorial to Jonathan Joss, who was murdered two months before this season premiered, is an absolute heartbreaker…”
Season 14 ended by honouring Jonathan Joss rather than killing a fictional character.
King of the Hill: Season 14's ending sets up the beginning of Season 15
The conclusion showed John Redcorn reconnecting with his son Joseph and starting a corn business with Hank and Peggy as investors. He agreed to take Bobby’s horse only if Joseph visited him, and both stories looked like the beginning of a new chapter for the character. If Mike Judge and Saladin Patterson move ahead in Season 15, they will likely plan to feature Redcorn even more.
If the new chapter wants to continue John Redcorn’s story, then recasting seems like the only path forward. This would not be the first time the character was voiced by someone new, since Victor Aaron originally played him before passing away in 1996, after which Jonathan Joss took over. Another option would be to honour Joss by removing John Redcorn from future seasons altogether.
King of the Hill Season 15: Expected storyline
