The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 is coming back in full force, along with its old and new cast members. The first episode of the season will be released on February 20, 2026.

The Apple TV+ series explores how the disappearance of a woman's husband brings her to forge an unplanned bond with her teenage stepdaughter. The series is derived from Laura Dave's novel carrying the homonym. The first season of the show was released back in 2023. After its success, the show got renewed for its next season.

1) Rita Wilson

Veteran actor and singer Rita Wilson is joining the cast of The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2. In the series, she will be seen as the protagonist, Hannah's mother. Although further details about her role are kept under wraps, we can certainly infer that her character shall bring a sense of emotional trajectory to the story.

As reported by Yahoo, Jennifer Garner, who plays Hannah in the series, spoke about Wilson's casting. In her candid statement, she addressed the small age gap between them and the prevalent ageism in the industry. At the book launch event of Laura Dave's 'The First Time I Saw Him,' this is what the star remarked,

"Now, Rita is not old enough to be my mother, but in Hollywood, we play hard, loose and fast with women's ages."

Adding further, Garner urged the audience not to dig too deep into it, as she said:

"Don't look too much into it."

Rita Wilson is well known for her work in Sleepless in Seattle, The Story of Us, Runaway Bride, The Good Wife, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Love Is Love Is Love, Asteroid City, and many more.


2) Judy Greer

Judy Greer is also one of the new faces of the series. Her role in Season 2 has not been revealed yet. We can only figure out her character once we watch the series.

The actor is widely prominent, being known for her large body of work and acting range. Primarily iconic for her character roles, she is seen in multiple films and series, including What Women Want, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, 27 Dresses, Carrie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, MCU's Ant-Man films, etc. Oh, she is also the voice behind Cheryl Tunt in Archer.

1) David Morse as Nicholas Bell

Actor David Morse returns to The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 as Nicholas Bell. He is related to Hannah's husband, Owen, as his ex-father-in-law. So, he is also the grandfather of Owen's daughter, Bailey.

He is an influential attorney who is closely associated with the mob clan, the Campano family. Bell is not a quintessential antagonist, as his character is contradictory and has shades of grey.

The Emmy-nominated actor is recognized for his work in St. Elsewhere, The Good Son, House, The Hurt Locker, John Adams, Escape at Dannemora, and The Chair, to name a few.


2) Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Owen Michaels

In Season 2, Owen actually comes back after his disappearance. With his return from seclusion, the stakes of the storyline get even higher. He now has to pay the price for his past decisions.

Apart from this series, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is known for his roles in Nightwatch, Black Hawk Down, Virtuality, Game of Thrones, The Flash, King & Conqueror, and many more.

3) Augusto Aguilera as Grady Bradford

Augusto Aguilera reprises his role as the U.S. Marshal Grady Bradford. He looks deeper into the case of Owen's disappearance. His presence is bound to add more edge to the complex storyline.

Apart from this role in the series, Aguilera has also worked in Grey's Anatomy, The Predator, Too Old To Die Young, and Promised Land, to name a few.


4) Angourie Rice as Bailey Michaels

Angourie Rice steps into the shoes of Bailey once again in The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2. She is the daughter of Owen, which makes her the stepdaughter of Hannah. Her character undergoes immense emotional distress and loss. However, as her father returns after five years, Bailey is now faced with her own conflicted feelings as she navigates her relationship with both Owen and Hannah.

Alongside, Rice is also noted for her work in These Final Hours, The Beguiled, Ladies in Black, Black Mirror, Mean Girls, and also three of the MCU's Spider-Man films.


5) Jennifer Garner as Hannah Hall

And finally, we have the lead protagonist, Hannah Hall, portrayed by Jennifer Garner. Her character deals with the testing times after the disappearance of Owen. Now, after his return, Hannah is now compelled to face the unresolved issues and her ambivalent feelings about Owen.

The Golden Globe-nominated actor is well distinguished for her work in Pearl Harbor, Catch Me If You Can, Alias, Juno, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Dallas Buyers Club, The Adam Project, Deadpool & Wolverine, etc.
