The Lowdown Season 2, Episode 3, titled Truth's Easy aired on October 21, 2026, at 9 PM ET on FX. The episode will also be available to stream on Hulu.

Previously, on The Lowdown Season 2, Lee Raybon was honoured with the Citizen Journalist of the Year Award for solving Dale Washberg's death. Lee also met Ginger, a public defender who claimed that she was being followed and that her client, Mekko, was missing. Lee starts to investigate the case, and it takes a fatal turn in the end. Elsewhere, the viewers also get a glimpse of Lee Raybon Sr., Lee's father, in the premiere episodes of The Lowdown Season 2.

According to TV Obsessive, Episode 3 begins with Lee running through the woods after he ran away from McMann. He tries to stop a car but then sees a warning sign that says hitchhikers might be escaped inmates. He starts walking down the road. A car eventually stops for him, and Lee finally reaches his van parked outside Secrets. The driver named Dale offers Lee a Subway sandwich. Lee declines but decides to charge his phone and notices a coffee mug on Dale's dashboard that says Truth's Easy. Lee finds out that the man has a habit of sitting at the bar, sipping Diet Coke, and waiting to give the drunk people a ride.

Back in his van, Lee discovers multiple messages from Ginger, whom he had been cryptically texting during the investigation until his phone died. Lee gets a call from Deidra, who informs him that Francis is at Sweet Emily's with her grandfather, Lee Raybon Sr., aka Frog.

Lee meets up with Ginger. Lee thinks Mekko might have escaped prison because McMann, the prison guard, was not aware of where Mekko was. Ginger, however, doesn't think so; she heads out to meet Mekko's uncle, Otis. Otis tells Lee and Ginger that Mekko showed up the previous week in the middle of the night.

Otis said that he gave Mekko food, clothes, and some money. He thanked Lee and Ginger for the hot dog they brought and claimed he had to return home to watch American Idol.

Ginger feels something is off about Otis. Ginger and Lee decide to follow Otis. Otis visits a hospital where he meets Mekko Jr. and his mother, Angie. Ginger was not aware that Mekko had a kid. Angie said that Mekko was mad about being left with a dead kid in prison. However, there was no record of a kid dying in the prison. A 19-year-old boy died in the county jail, but that was an entirely different place.

Back at the bookstore, Lee confronts his father. Lee is still suspicious of his father's true intentions. Lee Sr. claims that he just wanted to know his granddaughter.

Lee then heads off to dinner at Samantha and Johnny's place. Francis is still mad at Lee for lying about her grandfather.

Lee fights Lonnie

After dinner, Lee hears something outside the house, and it turns out to be the guy Ginger shot last week, Lonnie. They start to fight until Johnny stops them. The man is knocked down, and Lee ends up with a chipped tooth. They search the man's pocket and find out that he is apparently a Deputy.

Elsewhere, Marty's storyline takes an interesting turn. Previously, the viewers saw Lee ditch a story on an archaeological dig and hand it off to Marty. In this episode, Marty visits the site to find out that Lee had lied to the in-charge, saying he had a keen interest in this stuff. Marty had to fake a back injury to escape.

At Sweet Emily's, Ray informs Marty that he has connections to rich people who like to buy illicit artefacts on the black market.
