The Lowdown Season 2 Episode 4 ended on a cliffhanger last week. Lee was arrested after failing to hand over Lonnie's gun to the authorities.

According to TV Obsessive, Episode 5 of The Lowdown Season 2, titled A Dog with Two Tails, begins with Lee sleeping in prison. He smiles in his dreams, which makes Lonnie wonder what he's dreaming about. Sheriff Vela Thorne bangs her baton on the bar to wake Lee. Lee was granted a phone call in last week's episode. It turned out he contacted Donald Washberg.

Donald Washberg owed Lee a favor because Lee promised to keep Donald Washberg's name out of the scandal in The Lowdown Season 1 if he agreed to return the land to the Osage Nation. Donald then proceeded to become the Governor. He helped Lee to get out of the prison. However, Donald seemed the least bothered to help Lee beyond that. Donald quickly said goodbye and headed out to a local diner. Lee followed Donald and blamed him for being a bad friend, as he didn't bother to offer Lee a ride back to his van.

Here's more about The Lowdown Season 2 Episode 5.

Elsewhere, Judge Jed Sallsman arrived after he learnt that the governor of Oklahoma is in Woodrell County. The conversation between Jed, Lee, and Donald initially seemed tense; however, they wrapped up on amicable terms. Jed takes Lee and Donald to his ranch and makes them ride horses. Jed also shows them a collection of artifacts that includes Isaac C. Parker's gavel. While they rode the horses, Donald warned Lee to not make the judge his enemy.

Lee asked Jed about the diversion program in Woodrell County, which Nathan Spence was supposed to be enrolled in. Coincidentally, it was Jed's project, which he was quite proud of. He apparently shot a short film on it. When Lee asked Jed about Nathan Spence, Jed claimed that Nathan Spence never made it to the meat factory to participate in the program. Jed confirmed that Sheriff Vela Thorne's husband, Robert, was part of the film about the factory.

Jed refused to give Lee a tour of the meat factory. This teased that Jed might know something about Nathan Spence's mysterious death that he is trying to cover up.

What happened to Deborah Spence in The Lowdown Season 2 Episode 5?

Jeff confessed to Sheriff Vela Thorne that he took Ginger to Deborah Spence's house. However, he lied, saying Ginger and Deborah did not talk.

McMann and Lonnie dug up Chili's body to take it to the incinerator. It seemed like Sheriff Vela Thorne had discarded the idea of pinning Chili's death on Lee after Donald Washberg's arrival, or it might be due to Lee and Ginger's constant efforts to investigate the case.

Ginger called Lee to share how Deborah Spence told her that Nathan was present at the diversion program at the meat factory. According to Deborah, her son was worked to death. Ginger and Lee then went to meet Deborah. However, they discovered that Deborah had died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Lee understood that they were on the right track. Deborah's death broke Ginger. Deborah trusted Ginger, and Ginger felt it was their conversation that led to Deborah's death. Ginger asked Lee to leave as she wanted some time alone.

After Lee left, Ginger went to a store for cigarettes. She called Pookie, who is in prison. Ginger asked Pookie about what happened to Mekko. Pookie told her that the truth isn't pleasant. He said the rumors floating in the prison say that Mekko killed some kid (which might be Nathan Spence).

As Ginger was processing the shocking information that she received from Pookie, Lonnie appeared from behind and shoved a gun in her face. Lonnie and McMann then forced her into the trunk of their car.

Elsewhere, Francis invited her grandfather Lee Sr. to her birthday party at a bowling alley. Lee Jr. is clearly not happy with it.
