The Night Agent Season 3 was released on Netflix on February 19, 2026. All 10 episodes were released simultaneously. The show is based on the life of Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso, in pursuit of a massive financial scandal that even extends to the U.S. President. It features newcomers David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, and Stephen Moyer in addition to regulars Louis Herthum, Amanda Warren, and Fola Evans-Akingbola.

The Season concluded its big story, but it left several important things floating unanswered. Shawn Ryan, the creator, has already begun work on Season 4 behind the scenes, and the series has already obtained a $31.6 million filming credit tied to Los Angeles. There has been no official announcement yet, though it is all indicative that more episodes will be released. Until that happens, the following are the five biggest questions that should be answered.

The Night Agent Season 3: 5 things Season 4 still needs to explain

Did President Hagan and his wife get away with it all?

At the end of The Night Agent Season 3, the reality about President Richard Hagan is no longer a secret. He employed a shadow banking system operating under a company, Walcott Capital, so that dirty money could find its way to his presidential campaign. The deal that initially started was made by his wife, Jenny, who had collaborated with an intelligence broker named Jacob Monroe to make the entire process possible.

But here is the problem. Before his conviction, Hagan pardoned himself and his wife. The last scenes were of the two getting themselves onto a helicopter and a media deal subsequently getting landed. This was very unsatisfactory for a show that is based on the premise that the truth prevails in the end. Season 4 has to show that the Hagans do not always get what they want, or that they actually don’t walk away unpunished.

What happens to Adam after he turns his back on the President?

Adam, played by David Lyons, was employed for the majority of The Night Agent Season 3 as one of the most loyal soldiers of President Hagan. He was brought in to keep his eyes on Peter, and when the moment arrived, he had to make sure that Peter and all the others who knew too much were not able to speak.

During the climax, Adam shot Peter in the leg but was not able to kill him. Peter approached him directly and said that Hagan was no longer his friend as he used to be. Adam dropped his weapon and walked off; however, that decision has a price. He had defied a presidential order. He allowed one of the key witnesses to get to the press. He murdered Monroe, who was already collaborating with the FBI. What happened to Adam afterwards was not explained in the show. Is he facing charges? Is he now on Peter's side? Season 4 should pick up on this.

Who is The Father, and why has he been after Freya?

The quiet scene in a bar is one of the most creepy in the finale of The Night Agent Season 3. When Freya Myers, who has just appeared on live television to expose the President, sits alone, a man approaches her. The man in question is The Father, portrayed by Stephen Moyer, a professional assassin who was operating as a member of the same corrupt network that Freya had been involved with.

This is what makes this so odd. The Father had been employed by Freya herself, and the two had never encountered each other before that bar scene. At that point, the season ends, leaving it unclear what he wants or what he will do next. Freya negotiated with the government and is expected to be shielded. Then how come a dangerous hitman is sitting at her table? Something was obviously being established in this scene, and Season 4 must have a payoff.

Would Peter ever have a normal life beyond the job?

Peter has spent three seasons risking all in his job. As of the last moments of The Night Agent Season 3, he stops in front of an ice cream store that he visited with his mother. It is a soft, optimistic rhythm, the kind that indicates that he is perhaps finally ready to slow down and enjoy life.

Nonetheless, his personal life remains a mess. His love interest during the first and second seasons, Rose Larkin, had very little screen time this season. Showrunner Shawn Ryan has suggested that she might return in Season 4 and that the technology she had created could also be applied to harmful ends, drawing her into trouble again. Peter also lost his partner, Catherine Weaver, who was killed in the early Episodes of The Night Agent Season 3. Chelsea is getting married and has a happy ending, hence she is probably stepping down. Ryan has already affirmed that Peter will have a new partner in Season 4, and this one will be entirely new.

What is there more lurking in the secret files of Monroe?

In The Night Agent Season 3, Jacob Monroe was an intelligence broker, that is, he gathered secrets about influential persons and sold the information to the highest bidder. He was murdered even before he could cooperate fully with the FBI, but left an encrypted drive loaded with information.

One of the portions of that drive was used by reporter Isabel DeLeon, who turned out to be the estranged daughter of Monroe, to expose the Hagans. But Monroe had been working for decades and had dirt on more than one president. The drive is certainly not empty. Ryan has indicated that all that remains in it still might serve to fuel future plotlines. Season 4, which is said to be set in Los Angeles, is about to unfold a new conspiracy altogether, so the secrets that Monroe left behind could easily follow Peter to his new operation.
