After a year-long wait, The Paper Season 2 is officially here, premiering on September 9. The Season 1 finale showed Ned and Mare finally kissing after building chemistry throughout the season, even though Ned is Mare's boss. Ned even went to Mare's hotel room to talk about his award speech, but things soon became more personal. Their kiss left things between them uncertain, paving the way for a new chapter in Season 2.
The series is bringing back Domhnall Gleeson, who plays Ned Sampson, and Chelsea Frei as Mare Pritti, along with nine other returning cast members. Additionally, the season will also feature multiple guest stars, including Jon Lovitz, Andy Richter, Phil Hendrie, and more.

The Paper Season 2 cast: Who is returning this season?
The returning cast of The Paper Season 2 includes Domhnall Gleeson (famous for About Time, Frank, and The American Revolution), who played Ned Sampson in Season 1. Viewers will also see Sabrina Impacciatore (famous for The Last Kiss and The Passion of the Christ) returning as Esmeralda Grand for the latest season. Speaking about returning for Season 2, Sabrina Impacciatore told People that she was worried she might not be able to play Esmeralda again after being away from the character for so long.
Chelsea Frei, who plays Ned's love interest Mare, is also returning for Season 2. Frei's other works include The Moodys, The Addams Family, and Sideswiped. The Way Back star Melvin Gregg is also returning as Detrick Moore for Season 2.
Other The Paper Season 2 cast members include Gbemisola Ikumelo as Adelola Olofin and Tim Key as Ken Davies. Viewers will also see Never Have I Ever star Ramona Young as Nicole Lee and Alex Edelman as Adam Cooper in Season 2.

The returning cast is not the only reason to look forward to the new season. Season 2 is also bringing in six guest stars, adding some new faces to the story, according to Variety. This includes The Simpsons actor Jon Lovitz, who is known for Happiness, Rat Race, and A League of Their Own.
