Amy Poehler tapped into The Pitt fandom’s wishful thinking with a cheeky suggestion for Noah Wyle on Tuesday’s episode of her Good Hang podcast.

The Emmy Award-winning star, who plays Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch in HBO's breakout medical series, recently appeared on Poehler's podcast. Noah Wyle's appearance was extra special, as he was recently named People's 2026 Sexiest Man Alive, reaffirming the fandom's obsession and fascination with Dr. Robby.

The Parks and Recreation star naturally brought up Wyle's breakout hit, which will return for its third outing in January 2027, and shared unusual feedback. The Pitt, which follows a gruelling 15-hour shift in the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center's emergency room, is known for its realistic representation of medical emergencies, which involves a lot of blood and gore.

It looks like the series' gory medical cases aren't enough for the Parks and Recreation star, and she gave a cheeky suggestion:

“You’re not asking me for feedback on ‘The Pitt,’ but I’m going to give you a little bit of feedback. If you’re going to show so much guts and blood...But if you’re going to show that much, every time you get to get a little smooch. Someone’s gotta do a little smooch.”

Amy Poehler wants Noah Wyle's The Pitt to add romance in the upcoming season

Unlike medical dramas like Grey’s Anatomy, which balance high-stakes medical emergencies with swoon-worthy romances, The Pitt has largely kept its distance from the genre’s romantic side across its first two seasons. HBO's medical hit features brutally realistic medical emergencies and explores the challenges faced by medical staff in a post-pandemic world through Dr. Robby's trauma.

The Pitt was lauded for its realism, and the series swept the Emmys, including two acting wins for Noah Wyle. While Amy Poehler praised the show's 'incredible' makeup team, she admitted that the blood was too much for her.

Noah Wyle replied to Poehler's suggestion of including a 'little smooch' after each gory emergency:

“Oh, you think it’s one for one?”

Poehler replied:

"One for one, just a tiny smooch. Just one in the middle of the day."

Noah Wyle looked unconvinced, but he agreed to 'maybe' discuss a 'one-to-four ratio' in the upcoming season. Amy Poehler replied:

"You gonna show the guts, you gotta show some b*tts."

What can you expect in The Pitt Season 3?

Despite Amy Poehler's desire to see romance in the upcoming season, The Pitt will feature another grueling 15-hour shift in Season 3, which will take place in winter. As Noah Wyle teased in an interview with Variety, the upcoming season will feature a time jump from the Fourth of July in Season 2 and will be set in winter, particularly on November 12, 2026.

People's 2026 Sexiest Man Alive revealed that the date was deliberately chosen to examine how President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill could reshape the healthcare system and affect Americans’ coverage.

According to USA Today, filming for The Pitt Season 3 is underway. Returning cast members Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa and Taylor Dearden even joined Noah Wyle at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh to film exterior scenes for Season 3 on October 26. Additionally, Fiona Dourif, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shawn Hatosy will return in the upcoming season.
