After joining Chicago Fire in Season 13, Dermot Mulroney’s Chief Dom Pascal quickly became a fan-favorite character of the series. For two seasons, Chief Dom Pascal navigated through numerous complex situations where he depicted his skills.

However, Dermot Mulroney is leaving Chicago Fire in Season 15. During the convention of Flashback Weekend Chicago, Dermot Mulroney revealed the reason for his departure from the series.

During the convention, Dermot Mulroney revealed that his character in Chicago Fire, Chief Dom Pascal, was written off. Through the two seasons, he gave the series “all”. He also appreciated the “incredible storyline” and spoke up about how much he enjoyed depicting the role of Chief Don Pascal, noting that he “loved every minute of it”. It cannot be denied that the numerous turmoils that Chief Don Pascal goes through are perfectly delivered with a distinct nuance by Dermot Mulroney.

He appreciated the “high challenge” the character faced in Chicago Fire. During the convention, Mulroney also spoke about how significant and “meaningful” the character has been for the viewers. For Mulroney, it is not a “bittersweet” feeling to leave the series but rather “bitter to have to leave that”. Before his departure from Chicago Fire, Mulroney also took a hiatus during the fourteenth season of the series.

However, he then returned in the series during the season finale. Season 15 of Chicago Fire is set to drop on October 7. While Mulroney’s Chief Pascal arrived to know Severide’s decision, things took a turn when they were called to stop a fire. As the crew tries their best to get to the root of the situation so that they can stop it from spreading, an intense explosion causes the team members to get trapped with no way out. While Severide tries to call for help, the fate of the characters hangs by a thread. It can be expected that the upcoming season will shed light on this situation.

Miranda Rae Mayo, who takes on the role of Stella, along with Taylor Kinney, who brings life to Severide’s character in the series, are confirmed to return for the upcoming season.
