The episode begins with the depiction of young Julie’s dangerous profession as a professional assassin and the task that she had to carry out, which eventually leads to her getting entangled in an array of complications, even though she has tried to move on from her past.

This task was to take the life of a gangster, which she fulfilled. Julie’s handler, Damien, is also introduced. After Julie completes the task, she finds out about her pregnancy. The episode continues with a time jump of 31 years. At present, Julie resides in a secluded house on an island in Greece. She is shown to be eager to meet with her son, Edward. This episode also depicts the estranged relationship that Julie has with her son.

On the other hand, Edward is much more focused on finding the truth about his father, as Julie never opened up about the truth. Edward gets more eager to know about his father after he receives a large sum of money, which he thinks is from his father.

Things take a turn for Julie as she gets a job from Damien, which leads to an array of trouble for her. When Julie and Edward arrive at a wedding, the ceremony comes under attack, which Julie and Edward are somehow able to escape. This sets the stage for Julie’s return to the world of assassination.

The episodes of The Assassin Season 1 continue by setting the stage with the revelation of the antagonist. The person trying to end Julie is Marie. Marie was the one who used her resources to find Julie. She tasked Damien with making Julie target Kayla so that she could get Julie’s location in order to carry out her revenge. Julie’s path slowly begins to get more and more challenging as The Assassin Season 1 progresses. Marie continues to put more and more challenges in Julie’s path by hiring Pavel to kill her. Julie, however, was also able to end Pavel’s life. Throughout the whole situation, Marie kept on using the money of her husband in order to bring Julie down for her actions.

During this process, the people whom Julie initially trusted slowly began to become her enemies. The Assassin Season 1 also depicted Kayla’s dynamic with her brother. Edward fell in love with Kayla and asked her for marriage. However, things took a turn as Kayla’s head had a bounty.

However, after Kayla found out about her brother’s actions, she maintained her relationship with him, adding a layer of complexity to The Assassin Season 1. Besides Julie’s character in The Assassin Season 1, Luka’s character also plays a significant role, especially in his dynamic with Julie. After the incidents on the island, Luka decided to come with Julie. He was also propelled by revenge and wanted to end Afonso’s life.

However, at the end of the series, when he finally gets the opportunity to do it, he is unable to do so. In the end, he forms a deep bond with Julie. The distinct ending of the series also leaves a lasting impact on the viewers. Despite knowing the dangerous fate that he faces, Edward chooses Julie’s life.
