Netflix has released the teaser for its upcoming K-drama The Scandal, and from the first look, the teaser certainly doesn't disappoint. Starring Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook, and Nana, the one-minute teaser hints at the main storyline, which involves three lives at stake.

Directed by Jung Ji-woo, famous for Somebody, Tune in for Love, and A Muse, The Scandal falls into the romance and historical drama genres and centers on a risky challenge involving two women and a man. But what starts as a game soon turns into something much more serious.

As per the description given on Netflix, the series is based on the novel Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, published in 1782, and is set in Joseon, where the characters challenge the rules of their time to pursue what they truly want.

The Scandal cast includes Son Ye-jin as Lady Cho, a woman who wants to break free from the rules placed on women, and Ji Chang-wook as Jo-won, a man who sees love as a game. The cast also includes Nana as Hui-yeon, a young woman who gets pulled into their game without her knowing.

The teaser begins with Jo-won and Lady Cho sitting together as Jo-won asks what she wishes to see. He becomes interested in the game after Lady Cho tells him that Hui-yeon has stayed away from men for more than twenty years, which only makes him more intrigued. They place a bet, with Lady Cho promising to reward Jo-won if he succeeds.

The teaser then cuts to another scene where Lady Cho asks Jo-Won if he plans to pursue Hui-yeon, and he jokingly asks if she is jealous. His question also hints that Lady Cho might also be getting involved in the game, with some feelings possibly developing between them as Hui-yeon unknowingly becomes part of it.

While she does not answer the question or express her feelings directly, the teaser also briefly shows Lady Cho sitting closely with Jo-won, hinting that there could be something more going on between the two other than the game of love. In another scene, Jo-won approaches Hui-yeon, saying that his cousin is deeply concerned about her. However, the teaser makes it clear that Hui-yeon is not easily won over by Jo-Won's charm, but over time, she slowly begins to give in to him.

Overall, the teaser leaves viewers wondering what tricks he will use to get closer to Hui-yeon, how Lady Cho will react as the game moves forward, and what will happen when the truth behind the bet comes out. At the same time, it will be interesting to see why Lady Cho decides to make the bet and bring Hui-yeon into the game in the first place, and whether she has any hidden motives that she is yet to reveal.

The other cast members of The Scandal include Chani, Han Sunhwa, Lee Myung-Hee, Kang Myoung-soo, and DAMIAN. The K-drama is scheduled to premiere on September 18 and is expected to have a total of eight episodes.
