The Simpsons is leaving its iconic production offices after 35 years

Al Jean, the writer and producer of The Simpsons, revealed on his social media profile on X, formerly Twitter, that the series is leaving its iconic production offices. For 35 years, the series continued its work in this production office; however, now the time has arrived to part ways.

Right after AI Jean made the post, the post received an immense response from the fans. This production house has seen many milestones that this long-time ongoing series has come across. Though the location of the production offices is changing, it does not mean that the series is also coming to an end. Rather, the series is now all set for Season 40.

In the social media post by Al Jean, the writer and producer of The Simpsons, he wrote, “After 35 years,” they are moving offices and also added “#toosoon” in the caption, further adding an emotional note to the departure. The post also includes two photos, which include the members of the team along with a photo of the office. Though Al Jean has not shared further details regarding where the next location for the series is, the post undeniably marks the end of a long journey and the beginning of a new one.

Through the years, the series has gained an immense fandom. The storyline, which dives into the story of a working-class family as they navigate through numerous ups and downs, created a permanent place in the hearts of the viewers. The blend of comedy along with the satirical storyline that the series brings forth makes it worth watching. The series also marked an enormous milestone with its 800th episode and was also renewed for Season 40.

Matt Selman, showrunner of the series, in a previous interview with TheWrap, noted that the series is “never going to do a series finale”. The manner in which the episodes of The Simpsons unfold is undeniably a significant reason for the “longevity” of the series. In an interview with the Associated Press, Al Jean added that “at the end of the show” there is always the possibility of returning to “square one,” which is a “big influence” in making the series go on for years.

The cast of The Simpsons also plays a vital role in making the series such an intriguing one. Each and every cast member delivers the blend of depth and lightheartedness of their corresponding characters, which is able to get the viewers hooked on the storyline.

Dan Castellaneta takes on the role of Homer and has been voicing the character since the beginning of the series. Some of the other cast members of The Simpsons are Julie Kavner, who has also been a part of the series since the beginning, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, etc.

In a previous interview with Collider, Mike Price, the executive producer of The Simpsons, revealed the details of the end of the series. Usually, long-running TV shows end with an episode with intense turning points; however, Mike Price wants the series to end with a “regular episode” instead of one with “some kind of special final episode”.

Similarly, Matt Selmon also added that the series is not “supposed to change” as the characters “reset every week”; hence, the ending of the series will have a “regular episode” with the “family in it”. For now, the fans do not have to worry about the series ending, as it is already renewed for Season 40.
