With the midterm elections approaching, President Donald Trump may be preparing for a significant overseas initiative. Former Fox News political commentator Tucker Carlson posted a long story on his X (formerly Twitter) account about Israel pressuring the US government to attack Iran using a nuclear missile.
It should be noted that nothing is set in stone, and even the article pointed out that the president might be avoiding attacking Iran for now. We may learn more this coming Saturday, November 7, 2026. Carlson also said that Donald Trump might be targeting the Pickaxe Mountain in Iran.
"Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program."
This attack is not Donald Trump's plan
Carlson says that Trump is a bit hesitant to carry on with this attack and that it is Benjamin Netanyahu who is pressuring the US government to attack Iran. Carlson suggests that the Israeli politician is asking the US government to carry on with this attack because last week's election loss left him cornered. As for the reason for using a nuclear weapon, Carlson said:
"No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. “Bibi calls Trump about it every day,” says an informed observer."
Tucker Carlson's post says that, in addition to pressuring Donald Trump, Netanyahu is doing the same with other allies in the US government, including CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Moreover, Carlson's post revealed that CIA director John Ratcliffe and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are following Netanyahu’s lead. Moreover, some Democratic Party leaders are also supporting Benjamin Netanyahu. Carlson especially cited former president Barack Obama as an example, who said he was opposed to the Iran peace deal, which is currently being drafted in Doha.
But despite some support in the US, there are factors that Donald Trump needs to consider before he approves a nuclear strike on the Pickaxe Mountain.
The US's Middle Eastern allies don't want more war
Carlson says that the biggest opponents of this attack are the United States' allies in the Middle East because they don't want further war. The post then reveals that the UAE refused Netanyahu's request to join Israel in a joint attack on Iran during Netanyahu's visit in September 2026. But the post states that the Gulf economies have been struggling since the war started early this year.
Moreover, Carlson pointed out the devastating fallout from a possible nuclear attack on the Pickaxe Mountain. It would poison the water supply for 100 million people.
Moreover, the nuclear attack could also adversely affect the world. Carlson's exact words were:
"No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine."
The post continued:
"Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final."
Trump hasn't decided on this plan yet

Carlson then goes on to say that Donald Trump will decide whether to go ahead with this plan or not by this coming Saturday, just a few days after the midterm elections. The post also suggests that Trump is hesitating to take this nuclear option and is listening to the United States Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and vice president JD Vance, who believe that a deal with Iran is possible.
The post points out that negotiating with the Iranian government has been a bit frustrating, as it has been radicalized since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family's death in February 2026.
Carlson's post ends on a sympathetic note about all the people who would be affected if Donald Trump is pushed to carry on with Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to carry out a nuclear attack on Iran.
