The Testaments premiered on Hulu on April 8, which follows the story after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale. Instead of bringing back the old main characters, this time the story is about teenage girls in Gilead.
Those who watched the original series already know how rigid the system in Gilead is, as girls are raised with a mindset of becoming an obedient housewife in the future and no matter what, they should never show a rebellious behaviour.
In the premiere, we are introduced to Agnes and Daisy, the two main characters who represent two completely different perspectives of Gilead. The TV adaptation includes notable changes from the book to align with the narrative in the original TV series, which ended in 2025.

The Testaments cast and character guide: Here's who plays the leading roles in the drama
The Testaments isn't just about women being raised to become housewives, but also about the change that happens when someone from the outside steps into Gilead and struggles to accept the strict rules that feel wrong. At the heart of the Hulu series are two girls: Agnes and Daisy whose friendship and determination become the main element in the story.
Here's a look at the main cast and characters of the show:
1) Chase Infiniti plays Agnes MacKenzie

Agnes was raised according to Gilead’s way of an "ideal girl" who is obedient, God-fearing and always calm. She was raised by a commander but the truth is that Agnes is actually the daughter June lost in the original TV series.
She was separated from her mother and is now under the commander's care. On the surface, it looks like Agnes is happy with her life, but deep down, she has a lot of questions. And when she meets Daisy, her way of thinking really changes.
2) Lucy Halliday as Daisy

Daisy is an outsider in The Testament TV series who grew up in Canada and has been living a normal life. But when she comes to Gilead, Daisy struggles to accept how women are treated here.
Daisy pretends to be a "Pear Girl" but she's actually secretly working for the resistance group Mayday. Unlike Agnes, she immediately sees how oppressive Gilead is. She is crucial in the story because Daisy acts as a disruptor. She will challenge the rigid beliefs and expose truths.
Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia

Aunt Lydia is the strongest link to the original series. She is now the head of the school and trains young ladies to become the ideal housewives. However, Aunt Lydia is not just about running the school, but she is also concerned if Gilead will continue to grow with such rules.
