In the This City Is Ours Season 1 finale, Jamie Phelan and Michael Kavanagh decide to take each other's loved ones to push their rivalry to the next level. But before this happens, Elaine Phelan and her family reach an agreement with Michael to end the gang war. According to Radio Times, they choose Bobby Duffy and Banksey to lead the gang after Ronnie's death.

However, Jamie and his cousin Rachel have some other plans going on in their minds. While Rachel wanted to replace their supplier, Jamie, on the other hand, kidnaps Michael's pregnant girlfriend, Diana. His demands are also very different, as he wants Michael to kill himself to get her back.

Michael was not one to sit around, as he also kidnapped Jamie's baby son, Alfie. Michael wanted Diana to be safe, and for that, he was ready to do anything, even if it meant taking Alfie to a car park rooftop and warning Jamie that they will jump from there.

In the end, Jamie agreed to exchange Alfie for Diana. But once he got Alfie back, he pointed a gun at Michael. At that point, Diana stepped in for Michael to save him.

Michael reveals that he was the one who killed Ronnie. At that point, Diana knew that if Michael didn't confess to Jamie, Jamie would keep haunting them, which is why she pushes Michael to admit to what he did.

Michael decided to do what Diana told him to do, as he wanted to fix everything with her after she was kidnapped because of him. In the end, Jamie decides to back down and does not kill Michael, showing that he is not as ruthless as he wants others to believe. It is proven that Jamie was right all along, and Elaine also turns her back on Michael and cuts him out of the family. After spending so long trying to prove the truth about his father's death, Jamie can finally start to grieve.
