BBC One's crime drama, This City is Ours Season 2, is gearing up for its premiere. This City is Ours Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, October 25, 2026, on BBC iPlayer. Ahead of its premiere, the series was renewed for a third season.
Created by Stephen Butchard, the series follows Liverpudlian crime boss Ronnie Phelan, who hopes to retire from the crime world after a major drug deal. However, this leads to a power struggle between his right-hand man, Michael Kavanagh, and Phelan's incompetent son, Jamie. Michael had also hoped to leave behind the crime world after he fell in love with Diana; however, he seemed torn between following his heart and his profession.

James Nelson-Joyce (Time and Reputation) will reprise his role as Michael Kavanagh in This City is Ours Season 2. Previously, in Season 1, after a revenge-filled finale, Michael wanted to leave the crime world to live peacefully with his partner Diana. However, as per This City is Ours Season 2 synopsis, Michael will be forced to return to Liverpool from Spain to a life which he desperately wanted to leave behind.
Hannah Onslow as Diana
Hannah Onslow (This is Going to Hurt and The Doll Factory) will reprise her role as Diana Williams, Michael Kavanagh's partner in This City is Ours Season 2. Previously, the viewers saw Diana reveal a dark secret about her past. She confessed to Michael that she killed her abusive father, and her mother took the blame to save Diana.
Jack McMullen as Jamie Phelan
Jack McMullen (The Quiet Hour and Time) will reprise his role as Jamie Phelan, the son of drug lord Ronnie Phelan. In the previous season, he found out that Michael killed his father, Ronnie. In this season, Jamie may seek revenge for his father's death.

According to Woman & Home, previously, the viewers saw how the power struggle caused violence and death. When Michael realised that the crime empire would not be handed over to him, he stabbed Ronnie and killed him.
When Diana found out that her partner Michael was a killer, she shared her dark secret. She confessed that as a teenager, she killed her abusive father to save her mother. Her mother took the blame to save her daughter and was serving a life sentence.
Elsewhere, Jamie tried to seize control of Michael's business. Michael and Jamie decided to fight to find out who would take control of the gang and Liverpool underworld. Jamie sneakily smuggled in a knife despite the no-weapons rule and stabbed Michael.
Michael won the fight, but Jamie refused to back down. Jamie tried to shoot Michael but failed. Michael was done with the criminal world and wanted to live peacefully with Diana. In the finale, he announced his retirement and asked Bobby and Banksey to take over the leadership of the drug trade. At the dinner, the viewers found out that Ronnie Phelan was a police informant. This meant Davy, the senior gang member, was not the mole; it was Ronnie all along.

Later, Michael was informed that Jamie had kidnapped Diana. Diana was pregnant at that time. Jamie sent Michael a video demanding that he take his own life or Diana would be killed. Michael enlisted Cheryl's help to abduct Jamie's son Alfie. They met to exchange their hostages. Michael confessed to Jamie that he killed Ronnie. Elsewhere, Banksey killed Ricardo, a Colombian supplier.
