The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 recap: Lestat’s new path and the revelation of the past

The Vampire Lestat, which is the third season of Interview With the Vampire, brings forth an array of incidents that happen to the titular character of the series on his new journey.

The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 sheds light on the new path that Lestat has taken as he tries his best to make sure the narrative is correct.

Lestat’s new path and the revelation of the past in The Vampire Lestat Episode 1

The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 primarily focuses on the path that led Lestat to become a rock-and-roll phenomenon. There is also the depiction of the relationship that Lestat had with Louis before Louis opened up about his relationship in Daniel Mollloy’s book.

In the book, the image that Louis painted of Lestat was not quite flattering, which eventually pushed Lestat down the path that he is on. In the past, the success that the book gained eventually led people to also have their own opinions regarding Lestat. Lestat was not eager to let people believe the story of the book.

The storyline and the impact the book had on the people affected Lestat immensely. The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 further unveils that on a Halloween night, Lestat came across a band that was practicing in their garage.

Hearing the band practice, Lestat arrived and demonstrated his skills to them, which impressed the band’s member, Larry. Eventually, Lestat created his own band and gave Vampire Lestat as the band’s name. The goal that pushed him on this path was to make sure he had control over the narrative of his story.

The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 also unveils a past incident that happened to Lestat during a concert. It is depicted that soon after joining the band and gaining distinct fame, Lestat’s actions took a turn. During a concert, Lestat called a fan on stage. The fan, Baby Jenks, was eager to let Lestat feed on her.

Baby Jenks not only let Lestat feed on her but also caused Lestat to nearly overdose as she had drugs in her system. Right after drinking Baby Jenks’ blood, Lestat sees Baby Jenks’ spirit, who warns him of the danger that he might face. Baby Jenks’ warning about the danger soon became a reality as Lestat came across Tim and Rus. Though Tim and Rus asked Lestat to join them to meet Fang Gang, Lestat declined.

Things took a turn when Lestat came across Fang Gang, and a fight ensued. However, before Lestat could be further injured, Daniel Molloy arrived and helped him. Though the complication further propelled as Lestat’s band members also came to know about his true identity as a vampire through this incident.

Yet another significant moment in Lestat’s life is depicted in The Vampire Lestat Episode 1. After the revelation of the truth about Lestat being a vampire to his band members took place, he came across Gabrielle. It is revealed that on that night, Lestat arrived at a hotel in Detroit, where he took shelter, and came across TOI, the person with whom he had been texting for the past few days.

Through the messages that Lestat sent to TOI, it is depicted that even though the messages from TOI were short, it was not the same for Lestat. He poured his heart out in the messages. He was also desperate to see TOI. Eventually, on that night, TOI agreed and came to the hotel to meet him. Lestat opened the door of his hotel room and found Gabrielle.

He had a distinct past with Gabrielle, which The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 sets the stage for and can be expected to be further explored in the upcoming episodes of the series. It is also revealed that Gabrielle is also Lestat’s mother, which is quite shocking considering the dynamic that the two of them share.

In The Vampire Lestat Episode 1, the storyline also shifts and brings forth an auction house. The auction house had presented Lestat de Lioncourt’s musical works along with a customized music box, which included the recordings of The Failures. The items were coveted.

Hence, many members of the immortal world graced the venue with their presence. Soon, a bidding war started, which took the price quite high for the music box. In The Vampire Lestat Episode 1, Lestat’s story is slowly unveiled with the start of his music journey through the rock band that he created. Soon, Lestat’s fame skyrocketed as he took on the persona of a 145-year-old vampire, which the music world quickly began to admire.

The Vampire Lestat, Episode 1, sets the stage for the upcoming episodes in a distinct manner with the combination of the elements of the past and present. The next episode of the series is set to drop on June 14.
