The VisionQuest trailer features the return of a familiar Marvel location

The VisionQuest trailer dropped today online, surprising us all. At the 1 minute 32-second mark of this new trailer, we see an aeroplane flying towards a mysterious city. While the trailer doesn't name the city, we think that the mysterious city is none other than Madripoor, the same city that Sam, Bucky, and Helmut Zemo visited in the third episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

If you remember, the mysterious city was described in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as a hub for white-collar criminals. We know that the series is adapting the Marvel bounty hunter Paladin for VisionQuest. Therefore, it wouldn't be surprising if the character was from Madripoor in the MCU.

VisionQuest trailer - What do we know about Madripoor?

Before the solo Vision series, the MCU took us to Madripoor in 2021's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Sam, Bucky, and Zemo were trying to find the scientist who managed to recreate the Super Soldier Serum.

For the uninitiated, the serum gave Steve Rogers his powers, which is why it continues to be one of the most sought after serums in the MCU. However, their mission ends with failure, as the scientist ends up dead. Thus, the three barely manage to escape Madripoor in the closing minutes of episode 3.

After The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3, we returned to Madripoor briefly in Deadpool & Wolverine. In that 2024 movie, Deadpool visits one of the many Wolverines across the multiverse. This particular Wolverine, who is playing cards, is wearing a white suit and an eye-patch. As Deadpool approaches this Wolverine, the clawed mutant stabs the Merc with a Mouth.

After these two appearances, Madripoor is set to appear again in the solo Vision series, which begins streaming in two weeks.

What do we know about the Vision series?

VisionQuest has been described as a sci-fi series. It will follow a Vision who has been in hiding ever since the WandaVision finale. If you remember, the Vision we are going to see in the Disney+ MCU series is the one who was rebuilt by S.W.O.R.D.

It seems Vision is still piecing together his memories, and it seems that he is learning more about himself by interacting with other AI programmes in his mind, including Ultron. As that happens, a mysterious boy named Thomas Shepard forces Vision to come out of hiding.

"Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including Friday, Edith, Jarvis, and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate."
