Maggie and Luis leave the Manhattan settlement to search for medicine due to a shortage of medical supplies in the hospital. In the previous episodes, several wounded survivors from Newark and Belleville are brought to the hospital. However, Luis, Hershel, and others struggle to treat them with the limited medical supplies available.
Maggie and Luis finally meet a survivor called Trader (Folake Olowofoyeku) who provides them with medical supplies. It turns out she has established trading connections outside the Manhattan settlement as well. Luis reveals that he had heard stories of the Trader travelling far and wide. However, Maggie remains suspicious of the Trader's motives and approaches her with caution.
Maggie and Luis obtain morphine from the Trader. The Trader assures them that the morphine is legitimate and adds that her source is trustworthy.
Who is Marisol in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3?
In Episode 4 of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3, Luis reveals that Marisol is his late wife. Maggie was not aware of the fact that Luis was previously married.
Luis further tells Maggie that he wants to become the man that he should have been for his late wife, Marisol. He shares his dreams of raising children and building something that has an impact on society. His ambitions explain why he is so passionate about the hospital community.
Maggie realizes Hershel might no longer need her

During Maggie's conversation with Luis, she realizes that her son is now capable of taking care of himself. Hershel may no longer need Maggie's help. She acknowledges that protecting Hershel has been the sole purpose of her life over the last few years.
Hershel has now built a life for himself. He is training in medicine and taking responsibility for the patients. His life is now not entirely dependent on the conflict with his mother.
However, this does not mean that Maggie abandons Hershel or stops being protective of him. Instead, it means Maggie could now explore a life beyond Hershel. Luis eventually asks Maggie about a fresh start, teasing that she may now be considering a life beyond Hershel.
Negan saves Fabian in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Episode 4

While Maggie and Luis travel to find medicine for the community, Negan stays behind with Hershel, Renata, and Dillard.
When Fabian lands in danger, Negan saves his life while risking his own. Renata later acknowledges Negan's help in building the community and hospital while mentioning that he saved Fabian. Negan, however, gets a little uncomfortable. Season 3 begins with him wanting to isolate himself from the community, yet he keeps doing the opposite. He protects the construction workers and even puts his life at risk to save others.
