This attack does have a positive effect, as Charles finally realizes how to get around President Robert Kelly's ban on the X-Men's activities.Charles establishes X-Corp in Genosha, the institution that fights for mutant rights across the world, and not just the US. Thus, the closing minutes of this X-Men '97 Season 2 episode set up an exciting confrontation between the X-Men and the US government, as the latter tries to rein Charles in.
