To My Beloved Thief Episode 15 recap: Yi-yeol takes a stand as he realizes his responsibility

To My Beloved Thief Episode 15 starts with Yi-yeol and Eun-jo in a difficult position. Their lives are grasped with uncertainty, with chaos looming over their heads. This episode is a rollercoaster ride of intense atmosphere with high stakes. The danger keeps on arriving in Eun-jo and Yi-yeol's lives.

At the end of the previous episode, it could be understood that unless Yi-yeol confronts the king by himself, his rage could possibly ruin every innocent life. On the other hand, Eun-jo was also aware of the sacrifices she might need to make to prevail in justice. Episode 15 of To My Beloved Thief continues with this same intensity.

Yi-yeol takes a stand as he realizes his responsibility in To My Beloved Thief Episode 15

Episode 15 of To My Beloved Thief starts with a backstory showing the events that took place before Jae-i tried to confess in front of everyone that he is Gil Dong. Eun-jo, along with the others, planned to save him from putting his life in danger while also revealing the truth about the corrupt Sa-hyeong.

All the villagers dress as Gil Dong so that Eun-jo is not harmed. Back at the present situation, Eun-jo and Yi-yeol hide themselves from the king’s guards. The king’s guard tries to enter the shop where they are hiding. Right at that moment, Yi-yeol and Eun-jo decide to face the danger together. Yi-yeol then confronts the king about the Yeonsuk Flower.

The king, however, does not acknowledge him. Right at that moment, some of the king’s guards let him know that they were able to track Gil Dong. The king leaves Yi-yeol and Eun-jo behind and follows the guards. The king, along with Yi-yeol and Eun-jo, is shocked to find the scene in front of them. They see that many Gil Dong masks are kept hanging.

It was a form of support for Gil Dong. The king gets further angered at the situation. He orders his guards to drag out and kill every one of the supporters. Yi-yeol interrupts, telling the king that they are innocent people. However, the king does not budge. Yi-yeol confronts the king, asking him whether he is aware that he has been poisoned by a traitor. Before the king is able to reply, he begins to hallucinate the tiger once again.

Yi-yeol, watching the king’s situation, orders his men to guide him towards the palace so that he does not harm the people. This episode of To My Beloved Thief continues with Jae-i finding out about his father’s actions and that he has been captured.

Sa-hyeong gets questioned and is ordered to reveal the truth. Though evidence is brought, Sa-hyeong asks for a witness to his crimes, without which they will not be able to put him behind bars. As he has the ministers by his side, he is confident that his crimes are not going to be punished. On the other hand, the villagers wear Gil Dong's mask and march towards the palace.

The situation keeps on getting more and more chaotic. This episode of To My Beloved Thief continues with the king being directed towards the palace by the guards. The king, after reaching the palace, is still in a state of bewilderment, unable to understand the situation. Yi-yeol arrives in front of him, and an intense sword fight ensues. Yi-yeol is able to get the upper hand easily.

Right then, Eun-jo arrives and informs the king about his hallucination. The king finally understands that it was a delusion. He understands that he abandoned his duties, his country, and the people, and does not have the responsibility or the qualification to sit on the throne anymore.

This episode of To My Beloved Thief continues with Jae-i finally arriving in front of his father, Sa-hyeong. Instead of supporting him, he becomes the witness for his father’s crimes, revealing that he purchased the poison to bring into the bedchamber under his father’s orders.

This episode of To My Beloved Thief continues with the king abdicating the throne. Yi-yeol decides to step in as the new king, bringing order. At the break of dawn, happiness spreads as Yi-yeol takes the throne, and celebration starts all around. Eun-jo’s mother and brother also return. Towards the end of this episode of To My Beloved Thief, Jae-i confronts his father while he is imprisoned.

Through their conversation, Sa-hyeong realizes that Gil Dong is actually Eun-jo. On the other hand, Yi-yeol continuously focuses on his work as a king without taking any rest. This begins to take a toll on his body, causing his nose to bleed. Eun-jo arrives at the palace to meet Yi-yeol. Eun-jo gets angry at Yi-yeol for not taking care of his health.

At the end of this episode of To My Beloved Thief, both Yi-yeol and Eun-jo get busy with their respective works. Though they stay away from one another, Yi-yeol’s letters accompany Eun-jo. This episode ends with Eun-jo and Yi-yeol finally spending time together. However, trouble follows them once again as Yi-yeol has a nightmare. This makes him realize that their souls switch each time one of them is in grave danger.

Trouble keeps following Yi-yeol and Eun-jo, as at the end of this episode, Eun-jo is attacked by Sa-hyeong, holding a sword to her throat. Before they are able to switch their souls, Eun-jo breaks the bracelet so that her soul does not switch with Yi-yeol.
