Tom Holland confirms Erling Haaland ghosted him, shares Monaco GP story on The Tonight Show

The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon uploaded a new video on YouTube just a few hours ago about Tom Holland's two different celebrity experiences. First, the clip revealed a story about the rejection of Holland's dinner offer to Norway's striker Erling Haaland during the Monaco Grand Prix. Then, the video exposed the tough physical work carried out while filming fight scenes with Jon Bernthal and Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Odyssey.

The text sent to Haaland was a clear case of missing identity. Later, the post revealed that the player does not watch many films and therefore did not know who Holland was. Fallon made the moment funny by saying Holland vs. Haaland. Tom said that the moment gave him a reality check about being an actor.

Jimmy wanted Tom Holland to reveal the truth about messaging to Haaland

Jimmy Fallon and Tom Holland sat together on The Tonight Show and started a conversation about the Manchester City star's dinner invitation moment at the Monaco Grand Prix. Falon started the conversation by introducing Haaland's popularity. He said,

"People loved this guy. I loved him. I was like....I just loved.....He was very interesting. And I go, "Oh, I actually want him on the show."

Falon thought Haaland to be an interesting person, but he had read online that Holland once sent Erling a direct message, and Erling never replied.

Jimmy showed an online post on his tablet that displayed two images. The left image is of Erling Haaland, and the right one is of Spider-Man. Audiences started laughing when they saw those images side by side. Jimmy wanted him to tell everyone the truth about whether he had direct messaged Erling.

Tom Holland's dinner offer got no response from Erling Haaland

Holland confessed that he texted Haaland for dinner. Everyone started laughing after his confession. He explained that experiences like this are the kind of reality check that actors sometimes need. He said,

"That is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors. I'll text him, I'll take him to dinner. Not even a response."

According to him, he first sent a direct message to Erling to invite him for dinner while the event was going on. However, Haaland never replied. The post showed Haaland doesn't watch several movies, and therefore, he had no idea about the Spider-Man star.

Holland further added that Haaland should have given an excuse that he was busy playing football. He shared that he saw the striker while he was watching Lewis race at Monaco.

Haaland was sitting in a hospitality suite across from him, and Holland figured he might as well shoot his shot. Jimmy added to the humor by joking about "Haaland vs. Holland."
