Tracker Season 4 brings forth a big update

In a recent interview with Justin Hartley at Televerse 26, the actor revealed that even though Russell leaves at the end of the third season, he will be “coming back” in the upcoming season. Through Russell’s presence in the storyline, there is an aspect of family that further grounds Coulter’s character and brings forth a distinct depth and realism to his character. The family dynamic, which is a distinct focus in the third season as the two brothers go through numerous complications while trying to find the truth about their father, eventually takes a turn at the end of the season.

At the end of the third season, Russell received a file that contained the details about their father. The contents of the file were so shocking that it caused Russell to leave. To make sure Colter does not follow him, he even called Reenie so that Colter’s involvement can be averted. This ending left the viewers with many questions regarding Tracker Season 4.

However, as there have been many instances in this series where significant cast members have left, viewers were worried whether they would be able to get Jensen Ackles’ Russell Shaw in Tracker Season 4. In the interview, while speaking about the storyline of Tracker Season 4 involving Russell, Hartley notes that Russell will be in trouble, for which he will need a “favor from Colter and his skill set”. The two of them will “work together to solve this problem”.

As Russell left in the previous season without any explanation, it can be understood that there will be a certain level of complications between the two brothers even though Russell did it to “protect” Colter. With Justin Hartley’s confirmation, it can be understood that the upcoming season will shed light on Colter and Russell’s dynamic. During the interview, Hartley also opened up about the experience he had while working with Jensen Ackles.

He appreciated Ackles’ contribution in the show, pointing it out as “extraordinary”. He also appreciated Jensen Ackles’ “incredible work ethic,” which he experienced while working with him during the show. It cannot be denied that Jensen Ackles is already equipped with years of experience navigating through the character of an older brother through his performance in Supernatural.

Just as Ackles’ dynamic with his character’s younger brother Sam became a memorable part of the show, it is also the same for this series. Besides Tracker and Supernatural, Ackles has also worked on multiple projects where he depicted his distinct versatility.

Some of Ackles’ other notable projects that can be added to your watchlist are The Boys, Countdown, The Winchesters, Big Sky, etc. Tracker Season 4 is set to release on October 4. Viewers can tune in to CBS or stream the episodes on Paramount+.
