Tracker Season 4 Episode 1 is titled Safe Harbor and aired on CBS on October 4. The platform's action-crime procedural has returned with a new season, with returning star Justin Hartley as the titular tracker Colter Shaw.

According to Showbiz Junkies, the Tracker Season 4 premiere introduced Colter's new missing case. Sean, a construction worker and single father, left his two sons (Charlie and Hank) alone at night after an urgent text. After Sean did not return, Charlie contacted Randy, which gave Colter a new case.

Randy found out that Sean's urgent text was from a man named Bern, who worked at Longshore Welding and Steel. Colter's search for Sean took an unexpected turn when he discovered ties to a human trafficking ring.

Here is the complete recap.

Tracker Season 4 Episode 1 recap: Colter began his search for Sean

The Tracker Season 4 premiere kicked off with Colter's visit to Longshore Welding and Steel in search of Bern. Bern confessed that he helped Sean secure a gun to protect his girlfriend. Colter was shocked to discover that Charlie had followed him to the workshop. Colter assured Charlie that he would bring his father home and asked him to return to school. Charlie agreed after revealing that his father's girlfriend is Stephanie Rodriguez, who worked as a Supervisor at the Port.

Thanks to Randy's help, Colter found Sean's car outside a house. Brent Russo, a gate clerk at the Port and Stephanie's ex-boyfriend, was discovered dead inside. While Detective Bill Kao believed Sean killed Brent, Colter concluded that there was another person who killed Brent and kidnapped Sean and Stephanie.

Colter's hunch was right in Tracker Season 4 Episode 1, as a CCTV camera revealed Sean and Stephanie being stuffed into a vehicle registered to Cabrillo Transport at the Port.

Tracker Season 4 Episode 1 recap: Did Colter find Sean?

Colter's next stop was the Cabrillo Transport in the Tracker Season 4 premiere. While Colter found a bloody and tied-up Sean, he revealed that the kidnappers took Stephanie away. It turns out that Brent was pressuring Stephanie to make a shipping container disappear. Reenie discovered that Brent had ties to a Russian organized crime group, led by a man named Archer, a human trafficker who used containers to ship people.

The final moments of Tracker Season 4 Episode 1 featured a showdown between Colter and Archer. Finally, Colter killed Archer, rescued Stephanie, and freed many people who were trapped in the shipping containers.

The episode concluded with Sean reuniting with Charlie and Hank. Colter made a deal with Charlie and asked him to settle his fees once he graduates.

The Tracker Season 4 premiere set a haunting new mystery for Colter

According to TV Insider, the Tracker Season 4 premiere set up a new mystery connected to one of Colter's old cases. Before his new case, Colter was seen reading his journal about his past cases. While all cases appeared completed, he landed on an earmarked page about an unsolved case. The journal entry reads as follows:

“Attempted to talk to employer no answer, no one on site — 2 attempts. Follow-up call with M three days later. This time he was more willing to talk. Told me he was home that night and they talked about plans for the next day. She left. Reported seen getting into a car. WHOSE CAR WAS IT?”

Season 4 will likely solve this old case in the upcoming episodes.

Episode 1 also revealed that Reenie was leasing space at Maxine's law firm, after her landlord sold the building. While working on their new case, Maxine revealed that their in-house investigator, Adam Shevlin, was asking about her. The name rang a bell for Reenie, as she dated Adam many years ago. While Maxine suggested reconnecting, Reenie maintained that she had no interest in dating.
