ESPN and Marvel Studios have reportedly created a unique partnership and created a 30-second promotional video narrated by Paul Bettany, who played the character 'Vision' across several MCU films. According to Variety, the promotional video was planned to be uploaded to ESPN FC's X profile before today's El Clásico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Marvel and ESPN did this to attract more viewers to the derby match. As part of the campaign, ESPN also shared a soccer-focused Q&A with Bettany across its ESPN FC social media platforms. A motion poster was also released on ESPN FC's Instagram and TikTok stories and on ESPN Deportes' Instagram story.

During pre-match coverage, a special promotional segment had been set to air during both ESPN's English and Spanish broadcasts. Sources revealed that ESPN FC had posted the clip on its X and Facebook accounts before the match started.

Marvel joined ESPN's El Clásico coverage in a special crossover event

As Avengers: Doomsday builds hype, ESPN and Marvel united and let Vision take the center stage for the El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Paul Bettany, the face behind Vision, had made a promotional video to attract more viewers to the match and also for the promotion of his webseries Vision Quest. The clip was uploaded with a promotional tagline:

"Tune into ABC or ESPN+ to watch ELCLÁSICO."

Below it, the text reads:

"Marvel's Vision Quest is now streaming on Disney+."

Before the promotion, ESPN boosted the event by sharing a soccer-focused Q&A with Paul across its ESPN FC social media channels. The network also launched a motion poster on ESPN FC's Instagram and TikTok stories along with ESPN Deportes's Instagram story.

On October 21, 2026, ESPN Press Room revealed that fans can see the partnership unfold through pregame social media and broadcast coverage, followed by a special Vision Quest segment that will air exclusively during ESPN's halftime broadcast.
