Marvel has dropped a clip from an upcoming episode of VisionQuest a day after the first two episodes dropped on Disney+. The setting of this new clip is inside a car, which is occupied by Vision, Tommy, and four AI programs belonging to the android Avenger, visible only to him. Given that the scene takes place within the confines of a car, we can ascertain that this scene is probably from the third episode.

If you remember, the second episode ended with Tommy driving his father out of the dangerous facility. Vision was at death's door in the last act of the second episode, until J.A.R.V.I.S. (James D'Arcy) sacrificed himself. This is why J.A.R.V.I.S. is noticeably absent from the VisionQuest clip. Apart from J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y. is also not in the car.

What happens in the new VisionQuest clip?

The clip begins with Vision telling Tommy that the chances of him being Thomas Shepherd's father are slim. Then, E.D.I.T.H. warns Vision that Paladin's drones are approaching their location. Currently, Ultron and E.D.I.T.H. are the only two programs occupying the backseat. Vision asks Tommy to continue driving, which the young man refuses until he gets some answers.

A clearly frustrated Vision is informed by E.D.I.T.H. that he is blinking rapidly. E.D.I.T.H. tells Vision that D.U.M.-E. thinks that he is over-processing by blinking rapidly. As that happens, D.U.M.-E. appears out of nowhere. At that moment, Vision, in frustration, asks if there is anyone who would like to join him and Tommy in the car. As soon as Vision asks this, U. pops up, ending the clip.

Based on this clip, it seems that Vision might take some time in accepting his role as a father. The second episode of VisionQuest already revealed that "White Vision" sees himself as a separate entity from the Vision we saw until the WandaVision finale, and that includes the one we saw between Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War.

But the trailers already showed scenes of this Vision embracing an emotionally distraught Tommy. Therefore, we can see Vision stepping up to the role of father.

Most of the reaction to this footage has been positive, with some commending the show opting to choose AI programs in their human forms in the real world and Vision's mental state in the scene. One fan complimented the series saying:

Another fan stated that Ultron's compliment to Dum-E. was their favourite moment in this scene:

A fan was sympathetic with Vision's mental health:

This particular comment prompted the response "He does have a beautiful mind.", a reference to Paul Bettany's role in A Beautiful Mind.

But the most overlooked comment is the one in which a fan pointed out that the clip felt like a deleted scene because of the lack of music and the abrupt ending:

"For some weird reason, this feels like a deleted scene. I think it’s because the lack of music and the way it ends with the AIs joining in the car🤣"

Therefore, it seems that the fan reaction to this clip is positive, and even the one response that said that it looked like a deleted scene wasn't really negative.

What can we expect from the third episode?

The first two episodes set up several mysteries for the remaining six episodes to solve. One of the most important mysteries that we can expect the upcoming episodes to solve is the identity of Paladin's mysterious client. The client has managed to hack Paladin's communication device without any hiccup, and we know that it won't be until the seventh episode that we will learn their identity.

Apart from that, the upcoming weeks will clarify how the series will tie into Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to release in two months. Many fans are hoping that Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda would return to the MCU with an appearance in the Disney+ MCU series and Avengers: Doomsday. The upcoming two episodes will only deepen the mystery of the series.
