What happened to Fez in Euphoria Season 3? All about the Angus Cloud tribute

Euphoria Season 3 wrapped up with a chilling finale. From Rue's tragic end to the tribute to Angus Cloud, the episode was filled with bittersweet moments. In the penultimate episode, the viewers saw how Jacob Elordi's Nate died after being bitten by a rattlesnake.

Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fezco O'Neill in Euphoria, passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 25 due to an accidental d*ug ov*rdose. So, how did he appear in the finale episode of Euphoria Season 3?

Turns out, the makers had an old test footage (shot on a rare kind of Kodak film) of Cloud's Fez that fit perfectly in the scene they were shooting for. The finale began with Rue escaping after attempting to rob the drug cartel. Alamo gave Rue money; however, he left a bottle of pills out, knowing that Rue would take them.

After Rue reached Ali's home, she saw on the local news channel that Fezco had escaped from prison. A clip is then shown in which Rue and Fezco appear in the field, calmly watching the horizon together. Sounds like a happy ending? Turns out, it was Rue's dream sequence.

Eventually, after Ali woke up, he discovered that Rue was already dead. Rue was poisoned by Alamo after he found out that she was a mole. Rue's Percocet pills were laced with fentanyl. This was a heartbreaking end to Rue's story in Euphoria. To seek revenge for Rue's death, Ali eventually shot Alamo and killed him. Euphoria Season 3 finale: Fez escaped from jail and Angus Cloud Tribute

Angus Cloud passed away in 2023. But Euphoria did not kill off Cloud's character, Fez. Throughout Euphoria Season 3, the viewers knew that Fez was locked up in prison.

Thus, Fez was alive but out of sight. In the finale episode, Rue found out that Fez escaped from prison via a local news channel, and before they could reunite, she was poisoned. However, during Rue's hallucinations, the viewers caught a glimpse of Fez and Rue together for the last time. Sam Levinson told Esquire:

"His (Angus Cloud )arc this season is really kind of amazing, despite the fact that he's in prison and we don't see him,”

Fez was like a big brother to Rue. He might have been a drug dealer, but he was also Rue's guardian angel. He refused to sell Rue drugs. Levinson added that Fez has used parkour to escape from the prison. Levinson added that he took inspiration from a real-life 2023 prison break in Pennsylvania.

While Rue was hallucinating, she drove to a convenience store where Fez used to work. After Rue noticed a sign, the scene shifted to Rue and Fezco in a grassy field, enjoying the beautiful landscape with a bottle of beer.

This particular footage was shot almost seven years ago and was meant as an experiment with a rare Kodak film. A few days before Euphoria Season 3 premiere, the makers decided to use this seven-year-old footage as a tribute to Angus Cloud.
